Samsung Galaxy A57 5G or Samsung Galaxy A37 5G? If you want the slimmer, lighter phone with 256GB as the starting storage and a bit more camera hardware, the Galaxy A57 5G is the one to look at. If you are happy with a thicker body and want the same headline features (IP68, 45W charging, six years of updates) with a 128GB starting option, the Galaxy A37 5G covers most of the same ground.
Please note that these picks are based on official specifications and published reviews summarised in our individual reviews, not hands-on testing. We have not used either phone ourselves. Prices, offers and availability on Amazon.in change often, so always check the live listing before you order.
Both phones also share the same software promise, a 5,000mAh battery and a 120Hz AMOLED screen, so the real decision comes down to body, chip, storage and camera details. We walk through each below.
Quick verdict
- Choose the Galaxy A57 5G if you want the thinnest and lightest body (6.9 mm and 179 g per our review), a Super AMOLED+ screen, an Exynos 1680 chip, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and 256GB storage as the starting point
- Choose the Galaxy A37 5G if you do not mind a thicker, heavier body (7.4 mm and 196 g) and want an 8GB/128GB starting option, with the same IP68 rating, 45W charging and six years of updates
- Choose either one if you want a Samsung phone with IP68, a 5,000mAh battery, OIS on the main camera and no charger in the box, because you will need to buy a charger separately
Galaxy A57 5G vs Galaxy A37 5G: specs side by side
The figures below come from the two gadgetsoch reviews, which in turn rely on Samsung India’s product pages, 91mobiles specification listings and Smartprix coverage. Where a figure comes from a listing site rather than Samsung, our reviews say so, and we have kept the same caution here.

One variant note before you go further. The Amazon.in listing reviewed for the A57 is the Awesome Icyblue, 8GB/256GB version, and the listing for the A37 is the Awesome Charcoal, 8GB/128GB version. Samsung also lists a 12GB model for each, so check the memory and colour shown on the page before you pay.
Design, build and durability
This is where the two phones differ most clearly. According to the 91mobiles listings quoted in our reviews, the Galaxy A57 5G is 6.9 mm thick and weighs 179 g, while the Galaxy A37 5G is 7.4 mm thick and weighs 196 g. That is a gap of 17 g and half a millimetre. You will feel it if you carry the phone in a small pocket or use it one-handed for long stretches.
Both phones use an aluminium frame with a glossy finish according to Samsung’s pages, and both carry an IP68 rating, which 91mobiles lists as protection for up to 30 minutes at 1.5 metres. Smartprix, in its A57 review, notes that the glossy back collects fingerprints and can feel slippery without a case. That is a fair warning for the A37 too, given the similar finish, though we only have that reviewer comment for the A57. Our A37 review adds that the IP68 rating should be treated as a safety margin and that you should check liquid-damage terms in the warranty.
Who it suits: pick the A57 if slim and light matters to you. Pick the A37 if the extra thickness does not bother you and you just want the same level of dust and water protection.
Display
On paper the two screens are close. Both are 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panels with 120Hz refresh, and 91mobiles lists a peak brightness of 1,900 nits with 1,200 nits in high-brightness mode for both. The A57 is described as Super AMOLED+, the A37 as Super AMOLED.
Smartprix’s A57 review says outdoor visibility is not an issue, though the display can dim after a few minutes in very strong sunlight, and it lists no Dolby Vision, slightly uneven bezels and 480Hz PWM dimming as drawbacks. PWM is a way of controlling brightness by flickering the screen quickly, so anyone sensitive to flicker should read up on it first. Our A37 review has no measured brightness or colour data, and we cannot say whether the A37 screen has the same PWM behaviour. Treat that as not confirmed.
Who it suits: if you watch a lot of video and want the newer panel type on the spec sheet, the A57 is the one named Super AMOLED+. If you just want a bright, smooth 120Hz AMOLED, either will do.
Performance and storage
The A57 uses the Samsung Exynos 1680 (4nm) with an Xclipse 550 GPU, while the A37 uses the Exynos 1480 (4nm) with an Xclipse 530 GPU, per 91mobiles. We do not have benchmark numbers for either phone, and our reviews deliberately avoid ranking chips without them. What we do have is the Smartprix verdict on the A57, which calls performance average for the price: fine for daily tasks, multitasking and light gaming, but it can feel slow under heavier workloads. For the A37, our review describes the chip as built for smooth daily use and moderate gaming, with no independent gaming test to back it up.
Storage is the clearer difference. The A57 starts at 256GB, and the A37 can be had as 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB or 12GB/256GB. Neither has a microSD slot, since 91mobiles lists storage as not expandable on both. If you shoot lots of 4K video or keep offline media, the 128GB A37 may fill up, and you would want a 256GB version of either phone.
One more caution from our A37 review: Samsung’s page contains a conflicting statement about up to 8GB of RAM while also listing a 12GB option, so check the memory shown on the page you buy from.
Who it suits: heavy gamers should look at benchmark data for both chips before buying, because we cannot name a winner. For everyone else, the A57 suits those who want 256GB from the start, and the A37 suits those who prefer a smaller starting storage.
Cameras
Both phones have a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 5MP macro and a 12MP front camera. The difference is the ultra-wide: 12MP on the A57 and 8MP on the A37 according to the Samsung and 91mobiles details in our reviews. Video goes up to 4K at 30fps on both, per 91mobiles.
For real-world impressions, we only have Smartprix on the A57. It praises daylight photos for sharpness, natural colours and good dynamic range, calls low-light performance average with some noise and softer detail, and notes some edge distortion on the ultra-wide. It also says the 5MP macro has limited real-world use. We have no independent camera test for the A37, so please read samples from a trusted reviewer if camera quality is your main reason to buy. The 12MP ultra-wide on paper is the A57’s clearest camera advantage.
Who it suits: the A57 suits people who use the ultra-wide often. The A37 suits those who mostly shoot with the main camera.
Battery, charging and software
The batteries match at 5,000mAh, and both claim 45W charging with up to 60% in 30 minutes from Samsung. Smartprix’s launch article says the A57’s vapor chamber is 13% larger than the A37’s, which may help manage heat, though that is a design detail rather than a test result. For battery life, Smartprix reports around 6.5 to 7 hours of screen-on time on the A57 with mixed use, calling it decent but not the best in the segment. The A37 listing advertises 2 Days Battery Life, but that is a listing claim and our review did not find an independent test to confirm it.
Neither phone includes a charger. Samsung’s page says a USB-C cable is in the box but not a charger for the A37, and Smartprix lists no charger in the box for the A57. Budget for a compatible 45W-class charger if you want the full charging speed.
Both run Android 16 with One UI 8.5, with six OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Smartprix complains about preinstalled apps and ads in some Samsung apps on the A57, and our A37 review notes the same One UI version, so expect some clean-up after setup on either phone.
Who it suits: this section is close to a tie. Choose on body, storage and camera instead, and plan for a separate charger either way.
Who should buy which
Samsung Galaxy A57 5G: choose it if you want the slimmest, lightest body, Wi-Fi 6E, a 12MP ultra-wide and 256GB as the starting storage. Read our Samsung Galaxy A57 5G review for the details, or check the current price on Amazon.in and confirm the 8GB/256GB variant before you order.
Samsung Galaxy A37 5G: choose it if you want a similar feature set, including IP68 and 45W charging, and are fine with a thicker body and a 128GB starting option. Read our Samsung Galaxy A37 5G review first, or check the current price on Amazon.in and match the memory shown on the page.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Galaxy A57 5G better than the Galaxy A37 5G?
It is slimmer, lighter and has a 12MP ultra-wide, a Super AMOLED+ screen and Wi-Fi 6E on paper. The two share the same battery size, charging speed, IP68 rating and update promise. Whether it is better for you depends on whether those differences matter, and we have no hands-on or benchmark data to say more.
Do both phones come with a charger?
No. Samsung’s page says a charger is not included with the A37, and Smartprix lists no charger in the box for the A57. You will need your own compatible charger to get 45W speeds.
Can I add a microSD card to either phone?
No. 91mobiles lists the storage as UFS 3.1 and not expandable on both, so choose the storage size carefully when you order.
Are both phones water resistant?
Both are listed with IP68, which 91mobiles describes as up to 30 minutes at 1.5 metres. Treat it as a safety margin rather than a reason to swim with the phone, and check the warranty terms on liquid damage.
