Short answer: choose the OPPO Reno15 5G if you want a slimmer, lighter phone (about 197 g) with a 6,500mAh battery, a 3.5x telephoto and 80W charging, and you are happy without wireless charging. Choose the OPPO Reno15 Pro 5G if you want a bigger 6.78-inch LTPO screen, a 200MP main camera, 50W wireless charging, NFC and a published IP68 and IP69 rating, and you can live with a heavier 205 g body.

A note on method: this comparison is based on official specifications and published reviews that we summarised in our individual reviews. It is not based on hands-on testing by gadgetsoch. Prices and availability on Amazon.in change often, so we do not quote any prices here. Please check the current listing before ordering.

Two source cautions apply. OPPO’s own India page for the Reno15 Pro would not load when we prepared our review, so most Pro figures come from GSMArena and 91mobiles. For the Reno15, the update policy was reported by 91mobiles and we could not confirm it on OPPO’s pages. Also, both links here are for specific variants: the Reno15 link is Twilight Blue, 12GB RAM and 512GB, and the Reno15 Pro link is Brown, 12GB RAM and 512GB. Other colours or memory sizes are separate listings.

Quick verdict

  • Choose the OPPO Reno15 5G if you want the lighter and slimmer phone, at about 7.8 mm and 197 g
  • Choose the OPPO Reno15 5G if you like its 4K 60fps video on both the rear and front cameras and a charger plus case in the listed box contents
  • Choose the OPPO Reno15 Pro 5G if you want wireless charging, a larger LTPO display and a 200MP main camera
  • Choose the OPPO Reno15 Pro 5G if NFC, an IR blaster and an IP68 and IP69 rating are important to you
  • Skip both if you want the newest flagship chip, a microSD slot or a 3.5 mm headphone jack

The durability row is the one to read twice. For the Reno15, OPPO’s main product page says lab tested to IP69, IP68 and IP66, but the separate specifications page lists the IP rating as not stated. Treat the claim as the manufacturer’s own test result and check the official wording if it matters. NFC is not confirmed in our Reno15 review, so check the listing if you use contactless payments.

Display and design

The Reno15 is a slim phone with a textured glass back and a roughly 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen. 91mobiles called the design stylish and said the weight did not cause wrist fatigue. Its weak point is brightness. OPPO lists 1,200 nits typical in high brightness mode, and 91mobiles called that very underwhelming for direct sun.

The Reno15 Pro is bigger, with a 6.78-inch LTPO panel that can drop to lower refresh rates to save battery. Brightness figures conflict: GSMArena’s spec sheet says 1,800 nits in high brightness mode, while its hands-on and 91mobiles quote 3,600 nits peak. GSMArena’s reviewer found it legible in sunlight but advised using the High refresh rate setting because the automatic mode mostly capped at 90Hz. The same reviewer called the phone large and hard to use one-handed, and said the camera island makes it rock on a table.

Who it suits: choose the Reno15 if you want a lighter phone that is easy to carry. Choose the Pro if you want a bigger LTPO screen and plan to use a case.

Performance and software

The Reno15 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. 91mobiles measured 1,394,716 in AnTuTu and 4,200 in Geekbench multi-core, called performance adequate but not class leading, and reported that BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile ran without noticeable frame drops while the phone got warm. The Reno15 Pro uses the Dimensity 8450, the same chip as the Reno14 Pro. GSMArena found daily use and long gaming sessions smooth, with the phone warm but not hot, and reported a Geekbench 6 multi-core score of about 6,240. These numbers come from different outlets and units, so do not treat them as a head-to-head result.

Both run ColorOS 16. 91mobiles found the Reno15 cluttered out of the box, with 71 preinstalled apps, many removable. GSMArena noted ten third-party apps on the Pro. On updates, GSMArena and 91mobiles report five OS years and six years of security updates for the Pro, while the Reno15 claim comes from 91mobiles only and was not confirmed on OPPO’s pages. Who it suits: if a long update promise is important, the Pro has the better-supported claim. For casual gaming and social apps, both are fine.

Cameras

The Reno15 has a 50MP main camera and a 50MP 3.5x telephoto, both with 2-axis OIS, plus an 8MP ultrawide. 91mobiles praised the main camera and telephoto portraits, with good edge detection and background blur, but called the ultrawide average and the selfie camera oversharpened with a reddish tint on skin tones.

The Reno15 Pro steps up to a 200MP main camera with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide, and keeps the 3.5x telephoto at 50MP. GSMArena noted that the 200MP sensor mostly shoots at 50MP in low light, which it says OPPO describes as intentional, and that there is no telephoto macro mode. It called the results good overall but did not give photo-quality detail, so we cannot give independent image-quality verdicts.

Video differs in a way that matters. OPPO lists 4K at up to 60fps on both rear and front cameras for the Reno15, while GSMArena says only the 200MP camera records 4K 60fps on the Pro. Who it suits: choose the Reno15 for even 4K 60fps video across its cameras and selfies. Choose the Pro for a sharper ultrawide and the 200MP main sensor.

Battery and charging

Both phones list 6,500mAh. For the Reno15, 91mobiles reported 17.1 hours in the PCMark battery test and a full day of typical use, and a charge from 20 percent to full in under an hour with the 80W charger. For the Pro, GSMArena reported about a day and a half of moderate use and a full charge in 54 minutes, but called that one reviewer’s observation and not a standard test.

The key difference is wireless charging. The Pro lists 50W wireless and reverse wired charging, while OPPO’s pages for the Reno15 do not mention wireless charging at all, so do not expect it. GSMArena did not verify the Pro wireless claim. On box contents, OPPO lists a charger and case for the Reno15, but we could not confirm the in-box items for the Pro, so check the listing. Who it suits: choose the Pro if you want wireless charging. Otherwise the Reno15 gives similar battery capacity in a lighter body.

Who should buy which

Buy the OPPO Reno15 5G if you value a slim, light body, portrait-friendly cameras and strong battery capacity without paying for extras like wireless charging. Read our OPPO Reno15 5G review, then check the current price on Amazon.in and confirm the Twilight Blue, 12GB and 512GB variant.

Buy the OPPO Reno15 Pro 5G if you want a large LTPO screen, a 200MP main camera, wireless charging, NFC and a stated IP68 and IP69 rating. Read our OPPO Reno15 Pro 5G review, then check the current price on Amazon.in and confirm the Brown, 12GB and 512GB variant.

Frequently asked questions

Does the OPPO Reno15 5G support wireless charging?

OPPO’s pages list only wired 80W charging for the Reno15 and do not mention wireless, so assume it is not supported. The Reno15 Pro lists 50W wireless charging.

Which phone has the better main camera?

The Pro has the higher-resolution 200MP main sensor, though GSMArena says it mostly shoots at 50MP in low light. The Reno15 has a 50MP main camera that 91mobiles praised. We have not tested either phone ourselves.

Do both phones have a headphone jack or microSD slot?

No. The Reno15 has no 3.5 mm jack and no card slot per OPPO’s specification page, and the Pro spec sheets also list no card slot and no 3.5 mm jack.

Are the screen sizes listed correctly on Amazon?

For the Pro, the Amazon title says 6.7-inch while published spec sheets say 6.78-inch, so check the listing details against the figures above.
