The OPPO Reno15 5G is a camera-and-design-focused mid-range phone with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, a 6,500mAh battery, 80W wired charging and a 50MP telephoto lens for portraits. It suits people who care about photos, looks and battery life more than raw gaming speed, and the version covered here is the Twilight Blue model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Our short verdict: it is a polished everyday phone with a genuinely useful 3.5x telephoto camera and good endurance, but its performance is “adequate” rather than class-leading, and the peak screen brightness is modest for the segment. If you mostly game or multitask heavily, look at faster-chip rivals first.

How this article was written: it is based on OPPO India’s official product and specification pages and on a published review, not on hands-on testing. Specifications were checked on 29 October 2026. We do not quote prices because they change often, so please check the current price on Amazon.in before ordering.

Quick verdict

  • Best for: buyers who want portrait-friendly cameras, a slim and attractive body and a big battery in one phone
  • Skip if: you want top gaming performance, a very bright screen for harsh sunlight, a microSD slot or a headphone jack
  • Key strengths: 50MP main camera with OIS, 50MP 3.5x telephoto, 6,500mAh battery, 80W charging, 120Hz AMOLED, 12GB LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 3.1 storage
  • Key limitations: mid-range chipset that runs warm under load according to one reviewer, 8MP ultra-wide that reviewers rate as average, preinstalled apps, no memory card slot

One note on durability: OPPO’s main product page says the phone was lab tested to IP69, IP68 and IP66 standards, but the separate specifications page we opened lists the IP rating as “not stated”. Treat the dust and water resistance claim as the manufacturer’s own test result and check the official wording if it matters to you.

Design and display

The Reno15 has a one-piece glass back with a textured finish that OPPO calls HoloFusion, an aluminium frame and thin bezels. At about 7.8mm and 197g it is slim for a phone with a 6,500mAh cell. The 91mobiles review calls the design stylish and says the weight did not cause wrist fatigue, which matters if you hold a phone for long reading or video sessions.

The screen is a roughly 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz maximum refresh rate. On paper that is enough for smooth scrolling and sharp text. OPPO lists 100% DCI-P3 coverage in its standard, natural and vivid colour modes and 10-bit colour, which is helpful if you watch a lot of streaming video or edit photos on the phone.

The weak point is brightness. OPPO lists 1,200 nits typical in high brightness mode, and 91mobiles calls that “very underwhelming” for direct sun, comparing it with the Realme 16 Pro+, which that review says reaches up to 1,800 nits in high brightness mode. If you often use your phone outdoors in the harsh Indian summer, this is worth weighing.

Performance and software

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is a mid-range 4nm chip. In 91mobiles’ tests the Reno15 scored 1,394,716 in AnTuTu and 4,200 multi-core in Geekbench, roughly level with the previous Reno 14, and the reviewer describes it as “adequate but not class leading”. The same review reports that BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile ran without noticeable frame drops but the phone got warm. Those numbers are one outlet’s results on one unit, so treat them as a guide, not a guarantee.

In practice, a chip in this class should handle social media, banking, video calling, photo editing and casual gaming comfortably. It is the wrong pick if you want the highest frame rates in demanding games for years to come. The 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage on the variant covered here help with app switching and loading, although OPPO’s pages do not publish storage speed figures.

The phone ships with ColorOS 16. 91mobiles found it smooth and customisable but “cluttered” out of the box, with 71 preinstalled apps, many of which can be removed. The same review states the phone is promised at least five major OS upgrades and six years of security updates. We did not find that policy on the two OPPO pages we opened, so confirm it on OPPO’s website before treating it as a firm commitment.

Cameras

The camera system is the main reason to consider this phone. The main sensor is 50MP with an f/1.8 lens and two-axis optical image stabilisation. The telephoto is also 50MP, f/2.8, with two-axis OIS and 3.5x optical zoom. A 3.5x lens is a more natural focal length for portraits than a standard wide camera, because it compresses the face and blurs the background without as much distortion.

According to 91mobiles, the main camera delivered rich detail in daylight and good exposure in shadow areas, and the telephoto portraits were praised for edge detection and background blur, though facial detail was slightly smoothed. The reviewer called the 8MP ultra-wide “average” with detail loss and weak dynamic range, and described the selfie camera as oversharpened with a reddish tint on skin tones. If group shots on the ultra-wide are your priority, keep those comments in mind.

On video, OPPO lists 4K at up to 60fps on both the rear and front cameras, with stabilisation options and HDR video. That is a useful spec for vloggers and anyone recording events, though real-world video quality is something this article cannot judge.

Battery and charging

The 6,500mAh typical capacity and 80W wired charging are strong for a slim phone. OPPO’s own lab figures claim about 2.42 days of battery life under its test conditions, but manufacturer lab numbers do not reflect everyone’s use. In 91mobiles’ PCMark battery test the phone ran 17.1 hours from 100% to 20%, and the reviewer reports roughly a 6% drop per 30 minutes of mixed use including gaming, with typical screen-on time of 5.5 to 6 hours and a full day on one charge.

The same review says charging from 20% to full takes under an hour with the supplied 80W charger. OPPO’s page lists the phone as compatible with several other fast-charging standards, but the page does not mention wireless charging, so do not expect it. OPPO’s specification page lists a charger in the box for the India model, which is useful as some brands have removed it.

Who should buy it

  • People upgrading from a two- or three-year-old phone who want better cameras and a larger battery
  • Portrait and social-media shooters who will actually use a 3.5x telephoto
  • Users who prefer a slim, light and good-looking phone to a bulky gaming handset
  • Anyone who wants a charger and a case included in the box

Who should skip it

  • Gamers who want the strongest chip for the money
  • People who use their phone outdoors in strong sun and want a very bright display
  • Buyers who need expandable storage, a 3.5mm jack or wireless charging
  • Reno 14 owners, since 91mobiles says there is little camera reason to upgrade
  • Anyone who dislikes preinstalled apps and a heavily customised interface

Alternatives worth comparing

  • OPPO Reno 14: the predecessor, which 91mobiles says has a MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chip and the same camera hardware as the Reno15, with similar benchmark scores
  • Realme 16 Pro+: compared in the 91mobiles review, which says it offers up to 6,500 nits peak brightness, a slightly higher AnTuTu score and better skin tones in selfies
  • Vivo V60: cited by the same review for 90W charging
  • OnePlus 15R: used in the review as a performance reference, with an AnTuTu score of 2,957,229 against the Reno15’s 1,394,716, if speed matters more than cameras

What to check before you order

  • Variant: the Amazon listing title we have is “Oppo Reno15 5G (Twilight Blue, 12GB RAM, 512GB Storage)”. The link in this article points to that exact listing; other colours, RAM or storage sizes are separate listings. Always confirm the variant shown on the product page before paying.
  • Offers: the listing title mentions No Cost EMI and exchange offers. Offer terms vary and change, so read the conditions on the listing.
  • Box contents: OPPO lists a charger, cable, case and SIM tool, but contents can vary by market, so check the box on delivery.
  • Warranty and service: OPPO’s page does not state warranty terms. Check the seller and warranty details on the listing and keep your invoice.
  • SIM setup: it supports two nano-SIMs but not eSIM, and there is no microSD slot, so choose your storage size carefully.

Frequently asked questions

Is the OPPO Reno15 5G good for photography?

On paper it is one of the stronger camera setups in its class, with a stabilised 50MP main camera and a stabilised 50MP 3.5x telephoto. 91mobiles praised the main camera and portraits, but found the ultra-wide and selfie camera less impressive.

Does the OPPO Reno15 5G support wireless charging?

OPPO’s pages list 80W wired charging and do not mention wireless charging, so you should assume it is not supported.

Is it good for gaming?

It can run popular games such as BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile, according to 91mobiles, but the reviewer calls the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 performance adequate rather than class-leading and notes the phone runs warm. Serious gamers may prefer a faster chip.

Is there a headphone jack or memory card slot?

No. OPPO’s specification page says the USB Type-C port supports digital headphones only and the memory card slot is unsupported. Bluetooth 5.4 with codecs such as LDAC and aptX Adaptive is listed for wireless audio.

How many software updates will it get?

91mobiles states at least five major OS upgrades and six years of security updates. We could not confirm that on the OPPO pages we read, so check OPPO’s official update policy before you rely on it.

Does the Twilight Blue 12GB + 512GB model differ from other versions?

Only in colour, RAM and storage according to OPPO’s specification page, which lists 8GB and 12GB RAM and 256GB and 512GB storage. Each combination is sold as its own listing.

Final thoughts

The OPPO Reno15 5G is a good fit if you value cameras, battery and a slim premium-feeling body over benchmark scores. Its modest brightness, mid-range chip and preinstalled apps are the main compromises. If that balance suits you, check the current price of the OPPO Reno15 5G on Amazon.in and confirm the variant before you buy.
