The Samsung Original 15W Travel Adapter (Black) is a basic, single-port wall charger for people who want a genuine Samsung brick for a budget Galaxy phone, a tablet, earbuds or a smartwatch dock. It is not a Super Fast Charging adapter: at 15W it will charge Galaxy phones rated for 25W or 45W, but noticeably more slowly than they are capable of. If your phone tops out at 15W, or you simply want a safe spare charger for overnight top-ups, it does the job. If you own a Galaxy phone rated for 25W or 45W, you will usually get more value from Samsung’s 25W or 45W adapter.

This article is based on official Samsung product information, retailer specification sheets and published phone specifications, checked on 17 October 2026. It is not based on hands-on testing, and it does not include prices, which change often on Amazon.in.

The Amazon.in listing this article points to is titled “Samsung Original Travel Adapter (15W, Black)”. The title does not say whether a cable is in the box, so read the “what’s in the box” section of the listing before you order. We explain why below.

Quick verdict

  • Best for: phones, tablets and accessories that charge at 15W or less, and anyone who wants a genuine Samsung spare charger for the bedside or office
  • Skip if: your Galaxy phone supports 25W or 45W Super Fast Charging and you care about charging time
  • Key strengths: official Samsung accessory, compact single USB-C port design in the current EP-T1510 range, 100-240V AC input on retailer spec sheets
  • Key limitations: only 15W, a single port, no PPS Super Fast Charging, and the listing title does not confirm whether a cable is included

Key specifications

Samsung India’s online store lists two versions of its current 15W charger: the EP-T1510NBNGIN, sold as a “15 W New Design Travel Adaptor (Without Cable)”, and the EP-T1510XBNGIN, sold as a “15 W Travel Charger (with Cable)”. The Amazon listing title does not show a model code, so the table below uses the EP-T1510 family figures and marks where each one came from. Rows we could not confirm from a reliable source are left out.

Reliance Digital’s listing for the Indian black version (EP-T1510NBNGIN) also names India as the country of origin and includes feature notes that mention Adaptive Fast Charging and safe charging support. That listing shows only a quick start guide as the box content, which matches the “without cable” naming on Samsung’s own store.

What 15W actually means for your phone

Wattage is the simplest way to understand how fast a charger can refill a battery. A 15W adapter delivers its power at either 5V or 9V, according to the reseller spec sheet for the EP-T1510. A phone negotiates the voltage it wants through the USB-C connection, and the Samsung 15W Travel Adapter supplies up to its rated limit.

Phones that are designed for 15W charging will charge at their full rated speed on this Samsung 15W Travel Adapter. Phones that support more than 15W will still charge safely, because the phone only draws what the charger can offer, but they will take longer to reach a full battery than they would with a matching higher-wattage adapter.

That is the key buying question. GSMArena lists the Samsung Galaxy A26 5G and the Galaxy A55 at 25W wired charging, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra at 45W wired with USB Power Delivery 3.0. All three will work with a 15W adapter, but none of them will reach its advertised charging speed on it.

Why faster Galaxy phones need a 25W or 45W PPS adapter

Samsung’s Super Fast Charging is not just a higher wattage number. Samsung’s UK product page for its 25W adapter (EP-T2510) states that Super Fast Charging is based on USB Power Delivery 3.0 with PPS (Programmable Power Supply). PPS lets the Samsung 15W Travel Adapter request small, precise voltage changes during charging, and Samsung lists a PPS range of 5-11V at 2.25A for that 25W adapter, alongside a fixed 9V 2.77A mode and a 5V 3A normal mode.

The 15W adapter’s spec sheets we found only mention USB Power Delivery and do not mention PPS. In practice, that means a Galaxy phone that shows “Super fast charging” on a 25W or 45W charger will not use Super Fast Charging on this one, so expect a slower charge.

If you own a 45W-capable phone such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, a 15W adapter is the slowest sensible option. It is fine for overnight charging, but it is the wrong choice if you rely on a quick top-up before leaving home.

Design and build

The current EP-T1510 design is a small, single-port brick. The Indian black version measures 7.42 cm by 2.25 cm by 3.7 cm and weighs 44.1 g according to Reliance Digital, which makes it easy to carry in a laptop bag. Retailers also list a white version, but the Amazon link here opens the black one.

There is only one USB-C port. You cannot charge a phone and a pair of earbuds at the same time from this Samsung 15W Travel Adapter, so families sharing one socket may prefer a multi-port charger from another brand.

The cable question

This is the detail most likely to cause confusion. Samsung sells the 15W adapter in India both with and without a cable, and the Amazon title “Samsung Original Travel Adapter (15W, Black)” does not mention a cable. Retail listings for the Samsung 15W Travel Adapter-less EP-T1510NBNGIN show only a quick start guide in the box. A reseller spec sheet for the with-cable version (EP-T1510XBEGCA, a Canadian model) lists a USB-C to USB-C cable.

Before you order, look for the model code and the box contents on the Amazon.in listing. If the listing does not clearly show a cable, assume you will need one. If you already have a USB-C to USB-C cable, you can reuse it. If your device only has a USB-A to USB-C cable, it will not plug into this Samsung 15W Travel Adapter’s USB-C port.

Who should buy it

Who should buy the Samsung 15W Travel Adapter
Who the Samsung 15W Travel Adapter suits, summarised from this review.
  • Owners of Galaxy phones, tablets or accessories rated for 15W charging or less
  • Buyers who want a genuine Samsung spare adapter for a second room, office desk or travel bag
  • People who charge mainly overnight and do not care how long a full charge takes
  • Anyone replacing a lost or damaged charger for an older 15W Samsung device

Who should skip it

  • Owners of 25W phones such as the Galaxy A26 5G or Galaxy A55, who will get faster charging from a 25W PPS adapter
  • Owners of 45W phones such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra
  • Anyone who wants to charge a laptop, since 15W is far below what most laptops need
  • People who need two or more ports in one charger

Alternatives worth comparing

Samsung 25W Super Fast Charging adapter

Samsung’s 25W adapter (EP-T2510 on Samsung UK) supports USB Power Delivery 3.0 with PPS and is described by Samsung as a Super Fast Charging adapter. Samsung’s UK page lists it without a cable in the box and recommends authentic Samsung cables, sold separately. This is the better match for 25W Galaxy phones like the A26 5G and A55. Check the Indian model code on the listing, as model codes differ by region.

Samsung 45W adapter

Samsung also sells a 45W adapter for its fastest-charging phones, such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which GSMArena lists at 45W wired charging. We could not access Samsung’s official specification page for the 45W adapter on 17 October 2026, so confirm its cable rating and box contents on the listing before buying.

Samsung 15W Travel Charger with cable (EP-T1510XBNGIN)

If you want the same 15W wattage but do not have a USB-C to USB-C cable, Samsung India’s store lists a with-cable version of this charger. It is the simplest way to avoid buying a cable separately. Note that it is a different listing from the one linked in this article.

Buying tips: what to check before you order

Samsung 15W Travel Adapter buying checklist
What to check before you buy the Samsung 15W Travel Adapter.
  • Model code: look for EP-T1510NBNGIN (without cable) or EP-T1510XBNGIN (with cable) in the listing details or product images
  • Box contents: confirm whether a USB-C cable is included, as the Amazon title does not say
  • Your phone’s charging rating: check whether your phone supports 15W, 25W or 45W before deciding the wattage
  • Cable type: the adapter has a USB-C port, so you need a USB-C to USB-C cable
  • Seller: buy from a listing sold or fulfilled by a seller you trust, since counterfeit chargers do turn up in online marketplaces
  • Warranty: Reliance Digital’s listing for the EP-T1510NBNGIN shows a 6-month manufacturer warranty, but confirm the warranty shown on the Amazon.in listing before you order

Fake chargers are a real safety risk. A genuine Samsung adapter is worth the small premium over unbranded chargers, but only if the seller is genuine. Check the seller name and the product packaging photos on the listing.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Samsung 15W charger a fast charger?

It is faster than an old 5V, 1A or 2A charger, but it is not a Samsung Super Fast Charging adapter. Samsung’s UK page for its 25W adapter says Super Fast Charging is based on USB PD 3.0 with PPS, and the 15W adapter’s spec sheets we found do not list PPS.

Does the Samsung 15W travel adapter come with a cable?

It depends on the version. Samsung India sells a version without a cable (EP-T1510NBNGIN) and one with a cable (EP-T1510XBNGIN). The Amazon title for this listing does not mention a cable, so check the box contents on the listing.

Can I use the 15W adapter with a 25W or 45W Galaxy phone?

Yes. The phone will charge, but more slowly than it would on a 25W or 45W PPS adapter. It is a reasonable option for overnight charging.

Which port does the Samsung 15W adapter use?

The current EP-T1510 range uses a single USB Type-C output port, according to retailer spec sheets. You need a USB-C to USB-C cable to use it.

Can it charge a laptop?

It is not designed for that. Most laptops need far more than 15W, so this adapter is meant for phones, tablets and small accessories.

Final thoughts

The Samsung Original 15W Travel Adapter is a sensible, genuine spare charger for 15W devices and for people who mostly charge overnight. Its biggest weaknesses are its modest wattage, its single port and the uncertainty about whether this listing includes a cable. Owners of 25W or 45W Galaxy phones should look at Samsung’s Super Fast Charging adapters instead.
