The Lenovo LOQ with an Intel Core i7-13650HX and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB (model line LOQ 15IRX9) is a processor-first gaming laptop: its 14-core, 20-thread CPU is much stronger than its entry-level graphics chip. That makes it a good match for students, programmers and video editors in India who need plenty of CPU power for work and also play esports or lighter games at 1080p. It is a weaker pick if your main goal is running demanding new games at high settings.
This review covers the Amazon.in listing titled “Lenovo LOQ Intel Core i7-13650HX 15.6″ (39.6cm) 144Hz 300Nits FHD Gaming Laptop (16GB/512GB SSD/Win 11/NVIDIA RTX 3050 6GB Graphics/100% sRGB/Office 24/1Yr ADP…” (ASIN B0CX8RYYVR): 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD and Windows 11. The title does not show Lenovo’s part number, and the LOQ 15IRX9 comes with different webcams and keyboard lighting, so confirm the exact configuration on the listing.

Why the Core i7-13650HX is the reason to choose this LOQ
Intel lists the Core i7-13650HX as a 13th-generation (Raptor Lake) chip with six performance cores boosting to 4.9GHz and eight efficient cores reaching 3.6GHz, for 20 threads and 24MB of cache. Its 55W base power and 157W maximum turbo power show it is built for thicker laptops with larger coolers.
The efficient cores take care of background jobs such as browser tabs, Discord or a download, while the performance cores run the app in front of you. Work that splits into many threads gains the most: compiling big codebases, exporting video, batch-editing photos, rendering in Blender, running virtual machines or Android emulators, and engineering simulation and CAD tools.
Two caveats. Intel lists no NPU (neural processing unit), so Windows features that need a dedicated AI processor are not available. And Intel rates this chip for memory up to DDR5-4800, so expect that speed even though PSREF lists DDR5-5600 for some other LOQ 15IRX9 processors.
RTX 3050 6GB: what the graphics chip can and cannot do
Lenovo’s PSREF lists the RTX 3050 option with 6GB of GDDR6, a 1732MHz boost clock and 95W total graphics power (TGP), plus Advanced Optimus, DLSS and DirectX 12 Ultimate support. Laptop makers set their own power limits for NVIDIA GPUs, so compare TGP when shopping between RTX 3050 laptops.
NVIDIA’s DLSS page shows RTX 30-series GPUs support DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA and Ray Reconstruction, but not Frame Generation, which starts with the RTX 40 series. Upscaling still helps in supported games; you just miss the generated frames an RTX 4050 can add.
In practice the RTX 3050 suits esports and older or lighter games at 1080p, and newer AAA games at reduced settings, with 6GB of video memory the main limit in texture-heavy releases. Reviews of this exact pairing are hard to find; the closest is 91mobiles’ review of the LOQ 15IAX9, which uses the same RTX 3050 with a Core i5-12450HX, where the reviewer said the GPU handles most modern games at medium to high 1080p settings.
In most games the RTX 3050 runs out of headroom long before the i7 does, so the extra cores pay off mainly in work apps or when streaming while playing. If gaming comes first, a stronger GPU is the better use of your budget; our Lenovo LOQ Ryzen 7 RTX 4050 review covers a LOQ that takes the opposite approach, with an older 8-core CPU and a 105W RTX 4050.
Is the i7-13650HX worth it over the i5-12450HX LOQ?
Lenovo also sells the LOQ 15IAX9 with a Core i5-12450HX and the same RTX 3050 6GB. Intel lists the i5 with 8 cores, 12 threads, up to 4.4GHz and 12MB of cache, against 14 cores, 20 threads, 4.9GHz and 24MB for the i7. PSREF shows the two share the same 95W RTX 3050 option, 144Hz 300-nit sRGB panel, 60Wh battery and chassis dimensions. The LOQ 15IRX9 adds optional 1080p webcams and RGB lighting, while Lenovo’s battery estimate favours the i5 model (5.2 hours in MobileMark 25 against 4.1 hours).
The practical answer: pay for the i7 if your coursework or job is CPU-bound. If you mostly game, the graphics chip is identical, so in GPU-limited games the extra cores add little.
Display: smooth and colour-accurate, but not bright
The 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel runs at 144Hz with 100% sRGB, 1000:1 contrast, anti-glare coating and NVIDIA G-SYNC, according to PSREF. 144Hz makes shooters and racing games look smoother, G-SYNC reduces tearing, and full sRGB coverage helps with photo, design and video coursework. PSREF also lists Advanced Optimus, which lets the laptop switch the display between integrated and RTX graphics without a restart, saving power on light tasks.
At 300 nits the screen is comfortable indoors but can look washed out near a bright window. PSREF lists a 350-nit WQHD 165Hz panel for the series, but this listing has the FHD 300-nit screen.
Build, keyboard, ports and upgrades
The painted PC-ABS chassis in Luna Grey starts at 2.38kg, and Lenovo says it has passed MIL-STD-810H tests. The keyboard includes a numeric keypad, with white or 4-zone RGB backlighting depending on the model. Kunal Khullar of 91mobiles, reviewing the LOQ 15IRX9 in a more powerful i7-14700HX and RTX 4060 configuration, praised the keyboard’s 1.5mm key travel, found the plastic build solid rather than cheap, and noted that the hinge opens to 180 degrees.
Three USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4 (up to three displays in total) and Gigabit Ethernet cover most needs, and USB-C accepts up to 140W charging with a Lenovo adapter. There is no SD card reader or fingerprint reader, but the webcam has a physical E-shutter.
PSREF lists two DDR5 SODIMM slots (32GB maximum) and two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots. 91mobiles noted one M.2 slot on its unit takes the shorter 2242-size SSD, so check drive length before buying. The listing does not say whether the 16GB is one module or two; Task Manager’s “Slots used” field shows this, and if one slot is free, a matching module enables dual-channel memory.
Battery, charging, heat and noise
The 60Wh battery supports Rapid Charge Pro, which Lenovo says reaches 50% in 30 minutes. PSREF gives approximate maximums of 4.1 hours in MobileMark 25 and 5.6 hours of local 1080p video at 150 nits, and lists a 170W or 230W adapter depending on the country.
No independent battery test of this exact configuration was found. On its i7-14700HX and RTX 4060 unit, 91mobiles reported about 4 hours of battery and fans that speed up quickly and are clearly audible at full load, and noted Lenovo Vantage offers Performance, Balance, Silent and Custom modes. The RTX 3050 draws less power, so results will differ, but treat this as a plugged-in laptop for gaming and heavy work.
