The Ambrane Charge i45 is a single-port, 45W USB Type-C wall charger that uses GaN (gallium nitride) parts to stay small, and Ambrane says it supports Power Delivery (PD) and Quick Charge 3.0 for phones, tablets and Type-C laptops, including MacBooks. For most people with one modern phone and a thin-and-light laptop or iPad, it is a sensible one-charger setup. It is not the right buy if you need two ports at once or want to be sure of Samsung’s PPS-based Super Fast Charging, because neither is offered or confirmed.

This explainer is based on Ambrane India’s official Charge i45 product page and the Amazon.in listing data, both checked on 17 October 2026. We have not tested the charger ourselves, and we did not find an independent lab test of this model, so we do not quote any charging times or temperatures.

The variant linked on this page is the Black Charge i45 (model number ACHA-05 on the listing). Ambrane’s own page also shows a White option; make sure the colour on the listing is the one you want.

Quick verdict

  • Best for: one-device charging of phones, iPads and Type-C laptops that are happy with 45W or less
  • Key strengths: up to 45W output, PD and Quick Charge 3.0 per Ambrane, GaN design, 99 g weight per the listing
  • Key limitations: only one Type-C port, PPS not mentioned, cable in the box not confirmed, 6-month warranty
  • Skip if: you charge a phone and laptop together every night, own a 65W-class laptop that needs full speed under load, or want guaranteed 45W Super Fast Charging on a Samsung Galaxy

Ambrane’s page does not publish the per-voltage output table (for example, what the charger delivers at 5V, 9V, 15V and 20V), the AC input range or the dimensions. The listing’s technical details show “5 Volts” as input voltage and “5 Amps” as output current. Neither figure fits a 45W mains charger in the usual way, since the charger plugs into the 230V supply and 45W at typical PD voltages needs no more than 3A, so treat those two fields as unreliable and read the rating label on the charger itself.

Why 45W and GaN matter

A charger’s wattage is only a ceiling. Your phone or laptop decides how much power it asks for, and the charger supplies up to its limit. So a 45W charger will not “overload” a phone that wants 20W; it simply delivers 20W. What 45W buys you is headroom: one adapter can handle a fast-charging phone, an iPad and many light laptops instead of you carrying three bricks.

GaN is a semiconductor material that handles power more efficiently than older silicon parts, which lets brands build smaller chargers for the same output. Ambrane describes the i45 as small, lightweight and pocket-friendly, and the listing puts the weight at 99 g. Ambrane does not publish dimensions, so judge the size from the photos.

What to expect on different devices

Because the charger only negotiates power, the real speed depends on which fast-charging standard your device speaks. Here is how the Charge i45’s stated standards line up with common devices.

DeviceWhat the stated specs suggest
iPhone (USB-C or Lightning)iPhones use USB PD, so they should fast-charge with a suitable USB-C cable, and the phone, not the charger, sets the limit
Google Pixel and most PD Android phonesPD fast charging should work up to the phone’s own PD limit
Samsung Galaxy phonesSamsung’s Super Fast Charging uses PD with PPS. Ambrane does not mention PPS, so the phone may use a slower mode
OnePlus, OPPO, realme, vivoTheir highest proprietary speeds need the brand’s own charger, so expect a generic PD or QC speed
iPad and Android tablets with USB-CPD should charge them well within 45W
Type-C laptops and MacBooksAmbrane says it supports them. Good for light laptops, slower for machines that came with 65W or more

The Samsung point is worth stressing. Many buyers pick a 45W charger expecting the “45W Super Fast Charging” shown on some Galaxy models. That mode depends on PPS, and nothing on Ambrane’s page or the listing confirms PPS on the Charge i45. It will still charge a Galaxy safely; just do not count on Samsung’s top speed.

Charging a laptop with the Charge i45

Ambrane markets the i45 as laptop ready for Type-C laptops and MacBooks. Whether 45W is enough depends on the laptop:

  • Check your laptop’s original charger. If it came with a 45W or smaller USB-C adapter, the i45 is a like-for-like replacement on paper.
  • If your laptop shipped with 65W or more, a 45W charger will often still work, but charging can be slow while you work, and the battery may drain during heavy tasks such as video export or gaming.
  • Your laptop must charge over USB-C. Not every Type-C port on a laptop accepts power; look for a charging symbol or check the manual.
  • Use the right cable. For laptop charging, use a USB-C to USB-C cable rated for at least 3A (often sold as 60W). A thin phone cable may limit the speed.

Since there is only one port, you charge either the laptop or the phone at a time. If that sounds limiting for your desk or travel bag, look at a dual-port charger instead (see the alternatives below).

“Supports USB-A devices” through a single Type-C port

Ambrane’s page and the listing say the charger supports both Type-C and USB-A devices, but the charger has only one Type-C port. In practice, that means older gadgets still work if you use a cable with a Type-C plug at the charger end, such as a USB-C to Micro-USB cable or a USB-C to Lightning cable. You cannot plug an old USB-A cable straight into it. Ambrane’s page also lists Quick Charge 3.0 support, a standard many older Android phones use.

Safety, build and warranty

Ambrane says the Charge i45 uses “SafeCharge” technology with multiple protection circuits but does not list which protections are included. The listing describes a plastic enclosure and says the charger is built for long-term use; we cannot verify durability without testing.

The Amazon.in listing states a 6-month warranty. Ambrane’s own page mentions a 6-month warranty, a 7-day replacement policy and an extra 30-day extended warranty only for purchases made on Ambrane’s website, so do not assume the extra 30 days applies to an Amazon purchase. Note one small inconsistency: the official page gives Vietnam as the country of origin but also shows a “Made in India” label. The Amazon listing says Vietnam.

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Who should buy the Ambrane Charge i45
Who the Ambrane Charge i45 suits, summarised from this review.

Good fit: students and office users who want one compact charger for a phone, an iPad or a light Type-C laptop, iPhone users who want a fast USB-C charger with room to spare, and travellers who would rather pack one small brick than two.

Poor fit: people who need to charge two devices at once, owners of performance laptops that need 65W to 100W, and Samsung Galaxy users chasing 45W Super Fast Charging, since PPS is not confirmed.

Alternatives to compare

  • Ambrane Charge 70: Ambrane’s 70W GaN wall charger with three ports (two Type-C, one USB-A); the official page rates each Type-C port up to 70W and the USB-A port up to 18W, with PD and Quick Charge 3.0. Better if you want headroom and multiple ports.
  • Ambrane Charge R65: a 65W GaN charger with a retractable built-in Type-C cable plus extra ports; Ambrane’s page lists PD and Quick Charge but is inconsistent on the port count, so check the listing.
  • A basic 15W adapter: if you only charge an entry-level phone, higher wattage brings little benefit. Our Samsung 15W Travel Adapter explainer covers when 15W is enough and when you need 25W or 45W.

Checklist before you order

Ambrane Charge i45 buying checklist
What to check before you buy the Ambrane Charge i45.
  • Confirm the variant: the linked listing is the Black Charge i45, model ACHA-05, 45W with one Type-C port.
  • Cable in the box: neither Ambrane’s page nor the listing confirms what is in the box; check the “What’s in the box” section of the listing and budget for a quality USB-C cable if none is included.
  • Your device’s standard: check whether your phone uses PD, PPS or a proprietary standard.
  • Laptop input: confirm your laptop charges over USB-C and note the wattage of its original adapter.
  • Warranty and invoice: keep the Amazon invoice for the 6-month warranty; Ambrane lists care@ambraneindia.com as the manufacturer contact on the listing.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Ambrane Charge i45 charge a MacBook?

Ambrane says it supports MacBooks and other Type-C laptops at up to 45W. MacBooks that shipped with a higher-wattage adapter will charge more slowly than with the original, especially under load.

Is the Ambrane Charge i45 safe for iPhones?

Yes, in principle. iPhones fast-charge over USB Power Delivery, which Ambrane lists, and the phone only draws what it needs. Use a good USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to Lightning cable.

Does it support Samsung 45W Super Fast Charging?

Not confirmed. Samsung’s Super Fast Charging relies on PPS, and Ambrane does not mention PPS for the Charge i45. It will still charge a Galaxy phone.

Does it have two ports?

No. Ambrane’s official page lists one Type-C port, so it charges one device at a time.

Is a cable included?

Neither Ambrane’s page nor the Amazon.in listing confirms the box contents. Check the listing before ordering.

What is the warranty?

The Amazon.in listing states 6 months. Ambrane’s extra 30-day extension applies to purchases on its own website.

Bottom line

The Ambrane Charge i45 is a straightforward idea done in a small package: one Type-C port, up to 45W, PD and Quick Charge 3.0, and GaN to keep it light at 99 g by the listing’s figure. It suits a phone-plus-light-laptop user who charges one device at a time. Its gaps are the missing PPS confirmation, the unclear box contents and the short warranty. If those are acceptable, check the current price of the Ambrane Charge i45 on Amazon.in.
