The Sony ZV-E10 II (ZV-E10M2K kit) is a vlogging-focused mirrorless camera with a 26MP APS-C sensor, 4K recording at up to 60p in 10-bit 4:2:2, and the E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS II power zoom in the box. For YouTubers, Instagram creators and small businesses filming product videos, it is one of the most capable video cameras in Sony’s entry range. It is not a stills-first camera, though: there is no viewfinder and no mechanical shutter.
The kit linked here is the Black ZV-E10M2K, which pairs the body with the 16-50mm power zoom. Other versions, such as body-only, are separate listings.
Everything below comes from Sony India’s official specification page, the Amazon.in listing data and published reviews, mainly DPReview. We have not used the camera ourselves. Details were checked on 17 October 2026.

What changed from the original ZV-E10
The first ZV-E10 used a 24.2MP sensor, recorded 4K at up to 30p in 8-bit, and ran on the small NP-FW50 battery rated at about 440 shots, according to Sony India’s spec page for that model. The Mark II moves to a 26MP Exmor R sensor, 4K 60p in 10-bit 4:2:2, the much larger NP-FZ100 battery, faster USB-C and dual-band Wi-Fi. The Amazon.in listing adds that it uses Sony’s BIONZ XR processor, a detail not shown on the spec page we checked.
For creators, 10-bit 4:2:2 is the headline upgrade. It records far more colour information than 8-bit, so footage holds up better when you colour-grade, change skin tones or recover a bright sky. If you never edit colour, the difference matters less, but 4K 60p alone is useful for smooth motion and for slowing clips down slightly.
Video quality and rolling shutter
DPReview, in its October 2024 review, praised the “detailed 4K video, even at 60p” and “good rolling shutter performance”. It measured sensor readout at about 16 ms in 4K 60p and 17 ms in 4K 24p, and said the jello effect that troubled the original ZV-E10 is “much less pronounced” and “no longer much of a concern for everyday shooting”.
There is a catch at 60p. DPReview notes that 4K 60p uses a 1.1x crop from 5.6K capture. It still described the result as “more than detailed enough” for vlogging, but the frame is slightly tighter.
The camera also includes S-Cinetone, Creative Look presets, a Cinematic Vlog setting (a 2.35:1 widescreen look at 24p, per DPReview), LUT import and focus breathing compensation. DPReview warned that the “huge variety” of options can confuse beginners, so start with one look and learn it well.
Stabilisation: the biggest compromise
The ZV-E10 II has no sensor-shift stabilisation. For video, Sony offers an Active electronic mode alongside the lens’s Optical SteadyShot. DPReview found that Active mode adds a further 1.33x crop, which makes the kit lens’s widest view about 32mm equivalent. That is tight for arm’s-length selfie vlogging, where you usually want a wide view.
In practice, this camera works best on a tripod, desk stand or gimbal. If you plan to walk and talk handheld, consider a wider lens, a small gimbal, or a camera with in-body stabilisation. DPReview’s own conclusion was that it is less suited to “handheld shooting outside”.
Heat and long recordings
Overheating is a real question in Indian conditions. DPReview reports that Sony’s manual warns of only about 5 minutes of 4K recording at 25°C with default settings. With the “Auto Power OFF Temp” setting changed to High, DPReview recorded 4K 60p at 200 Mbps for 1 hour 17 minutes indoors at 23°C. It added that direct sunlight outdoors would shorten these times.
For long webinars, classes or podcasts, switch Auto Power OFF Temp to High, keep the camera out of direct sun, open the screen away from the body and consider recording in a lower bit-rate or Full HD if you do not need 4K.
Autofocus for creators
Sony India lists up to 759 phase-detection points for stills and up to 495 for movies, with human, animal and bird recognition and sensitivity down to EV -3. For creators, the important part is subject recognition: the camera should stay locked on your face as you move or lean in to show a product.
Audio, ports and battery
Audio is well covered for the price class. Sony lists a built-in stereo mic, a wind screen in the box, a 3.5mm microphone input and a 3.5mm headphone jack for monitoring. The camera also supports 4-channel audio recording, and the Multi Interface Shoe takes accessories such as an external mic.
The NP-FZ100 is a much larger battery than the NP-FW50 used in the first ZV-E10. Sony rates it at about 610 shots or about 130 minutes of continuous movie recording. Charging runs through USB-C with Power Delivery, so a suitable USB-C PD charger or power bank can top it up between sessions.
Wi-Fi now works on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, which the Amazon.in listing highlights for faster sharing to a phone. Bluetooth 4.2 is also included. There is no NFC.
Photos: usable, but not its focus
The 26MP sensor produces 6192 x 4128-pixel images, and the camera shoots JPEG, HEIF and RAW. However, there is no viewfinder, and Sony lists only an electronic shutter. Electronic shutters can distort fast-moving subjects and can show banding under some LED or tube lighting. DPReview’s list of cons simply says it is “not a stills camera”. If photography is half or more of your use, a model with a viewfinder will serve you better.
Who should buy the ZV-E10 II

- Creators filming at a desk or on a tripod who want high-quality 4K 60p and 10-bit colour
- Small businesses and sellers making product videos and reels
- Teachers and coaches recording classes, provided heat settings are adjusted
- Owners of the original ZV-E10 who want better rolling shutter, battery life and colour depth
Who should look elsewhere
- Photographers who want a viewfinder, a mechanical shutter or a built-in flash
- Travel vloggers who mainly shoot handheld and walking, since there is no in-body stabilisation and Active mode crops in
- Anyone who records long sessions outdoors in hot sun
- Buyers who want the widest possible view from the kit lens for selfie vlogging
Alternatives worth comparing
Sony ZV-E10 (first generation)
The original model has a 24.2MP sensor, 4K up to 30p in 8-bit, a vari-angle screen, a headphone jack and the smaller NP-FW50 battery (about 440 shots), per Sony India. It suits beginners who do not need 4K 60p or 10-bit colour.
Canon EOS R50
Canon India lists a 24.2MP APS-C sensor, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, 4K 30p oversampled from 6K, a vari-angle touchscreen and a 2.36M-dot electronic viewfinder. It is the more balanced pick for people who want both photos and video. Read our Canon EOS R50 review.
Sony Alpha a6100 (ILCE-6100X kit)
Sony’s older 24.2MP APS-C stills camera with a 1.44M-dot viewfinder, built-in flash and 11 fps bursts. It records 4K only up to 30p and has no headphone jack, but it is stronger for photography.
Before you order: a checklist

- Variant: this link is for the ZV-E10M2K kit in Black with the 16-50mm power zoom. Other versions, such as body-only, are separate listings, so check the title and colour before buying.
- Box contents: Sony India’s spec page lists the NP-FZ100 battery, shoulder strap, wind screen, wind screen adaptor and lens cap. It does not list a charger or memory card, so plan for a USB-C Power Delivery charger and an SD card.
- Memory card: the slot takes UHS-I and UHS-II SD cards. For 200 Mbps 4K or 600 Mbps XAVC S-I, choose a card with a high sustained write rating, such as V60 or V90.
- Warranty: the Amazon.in listing mentions a “2+1 Year Extended warranty on registration on Alpha Community”. Confirm current terms with Sony India and keep your invoice.
- Accessories: a tripod or grip, a small light and an external mic help most. Our YouTube starter kit guide for India covers these basics.
