The Sony WF-C710N is a noise-cancelling pair of true wireless earbuds in Sony’s budget C-series, and on paper it fixes most of what held back the WF-C700N: Sony rates the earbuds at up to 8.5 hours with ANC on, adds about 21.5 hours from the case for roughly 30 hours in total, and moves to Bluetooth 5.3. It is a good fit for commuters who want ANC, a long-lasting battery and a Sony-tuned sound without paying flagship money. It is a poor fit if you need LDAC or aptX, wireless charging or the quietest ANC around.
This article is based on Sony India’s official product and specification pages, which we read on 29 October 2026, and on published reviews from T3 and t2ONLINE. It is not based on hands-on testing. The Amazon listing title we have is just “Sony WF-C710N” with no colour shown, so check the colour on the listing before ordering. Sony India lists Glass Blue, Pink, White and Black.

Key specifications
These figures are from Sony India’s WF-C710N product and specification pages. Sony’s page lists no microphone row and no quick-charge row, so we do not give either. Where a row on Sony’s page looked inconsistent, we say so below the table.
| Specification | Sony WF-C710N |
|---|---|
| Type | True wireless, in-ear |
| Driver unit | 5 mm |
| Noise handling | Digital noise cancelling using dual microphones, plus Ambient Sound Mode |
| Bluetooth | Version 5.3 |
| Audio codecs | SBC and AAC |
| Profiles | A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, HSP |
| Sound features | DSEE |
| Earbud battery, music | Up to 8.5 hours with ANC on, up to 12 hours with ANC off |
| Earbud battery, calls | Up to 4.5 hours |
| Total with case | About 30 hours (Sony’s product page: 8.5 hours plus about 21.5 hours from the case) |
| Charge time | About 1.5 hours for the earbuds, about 3.5 hours for the case via USB |
| Water resistance | IPX4 |
| Weight | About 5.2 g per earbud with M tips, about 38 g for the case |
| Colours (Sony India) | Glass Blue, Pink, White, Black |
| In the box | Charging case, hybrid silicone ear tips, reference guide, USB cable |
One consistency note: Sony’s page shows the same 4.5-hour call time with ANC on or off, so treat that figure as approximate. T3 quotes about 40 hours in total with the case, but Sony’s own product page says about 30 hours, which is the figure we use.
What it does better than the WF-C700N
T3 calls the WF-C710N an impressive revision of the budget Sony formula, with strong battery life and sound for the money, and notes that little has changed in the sound compared with the WF-C700N. The real difference is practical. On Sony’s figures, the WF-C710N earbuds last up to 8.5 hours with ANC on, against 7.5 hours for the WF-C700N as quoted by other reviewers, and the case takes the total to about 30 hours instead of about 15. That matters on a long commute or a week of travel, because you charge the case roughly half as often.
Sony also describes ANC that uses dual microphones to pick up surrounding noise, and AI-assisted voice pickup meant to keep calls clear in noisy places. What Hi-Fi? has described the WF-C710N as the WF-C700N’s successor with better sound and ANC but a bulkier design.
Noise cancelling
Reviewers are not in complete agreement on ANC. t2ONLINE calls it one of the best noise-cancelling options at the price point and says the Ambient mode works well for quick conversations. T3 found the effect noticeable but blunter and less subtle, and heard a static-like hiss when music is paused that better models avoid. T3 also names the Technics EAH-AZ100 and Apple AirPods Pro 2 as having better ANC.
Take that as a spread of experiences. ANC performance depends heavily on how well the tips seal, so try each tip size in the box. For constant low-frequency noise from trains, planes or fans, mid-price ANC like this generally helps, but it will not match flagship models.
Sound and codecs
The WF-C710N uses a 5 mm driver, DSEE and tuning Sony describes as balanced, with strong bass and clear vocals. T3 describes the sound as lively and fairly precise, suiting modern pop best, with punchy bass for the price but a soundstage that is not very wide. t2ONLINE agrees that the bass is punchy, but says the default tuning misses some upper-treble detail and that equaliser tweaks can help. It also reports that the sound almost matches the premium WF-1000XM5.
Over Bluetooth, the earbuds support only SBC and AAC. T3 and t2ONLINE both mention the absence of LDAC or aptX, which t2ONLINE says may disappoint Android users. If you have an iPhone, AAC is the more useful codec. For streaming music and videos, it is acceptable for most listeners.
t2ONLINE reports that the Sony Sound Connect app gives battery information, ANC and ambient controls, automatic ANC switching and several EQ presets, though only a basic five-band custom equaliser. It also says 360 Reality Audio is available after an ear-shape scan.
Design, fit and build
The earbuds weigh about 5.2 g each and the case about 38 g, heavier than the WF-C700N’s 4.6 g and 31 g. The design is stemless, with a flat outer edge that T3 says makes touch controls easier to find, and Sony offers four colours. t2ONLINE found it comfortable for hours and stable while jogging with the right tips, and said the Glass Blue finish looks fresh.
Build quality is the soft spot. T3 describes the earbuds as all plastic and the case lid as flimsy, though it praises the magnetic seal, and lists the build as somewhat cheap in its cons. IPX4 means resistance to splashes, so it works for sweat and light rain but not for swimming or rinsing under a tap.
Battery and charging
Sony’s product page gives 8.5 hours in the earbuds and about 21.5 hours from the case, for roughly 30 hours, and the specification page lists 12 hours with ANC off. t2ONLINE reports about 8.5 to 9.5 hours with ANC on and over 30 hours with the case, and T3 notes that calls drain the battery faster. Neither review suggests that the battery falls short. Neither mentions wireless charging, and t2ONLINE specifically says there is none, so plan on using the USB cable.
Calls and everyday features
t2ONLINE found calls good but not AirPods-level, helped by dual microphones and AI voice pickup. T3 did not assess calls beyond noting the shorter battery life during them. T3 also lists multipoint connectivity and wear detection that pauses media. These features were not visible on the Sony India page text we could read, so confirm them on the listing or through the app after you buy.

- Users who like punchy bass and a casual, lively tuning

Who should skip it
- Android users who want LDAC or aptX

- Anyone who wants wireless charging or a premium-feeling case
Alternatives worth comparing
Sony WF-C700N is the predecessor. Sony India lists digital noise cancelling with Noise Sensor Technology and Ambient Sound Mode, and What Hi-Fi? rates its sound and comfort highly. Its drawback is a shorter total battery of about 15 hours.
Sony WF-C510 drops ANC but is lighter, and Sony India lists up to 11 hours per charge with Ambient Sound Mode off. It suits buyers who want simple earbuds.
Sony WF-1000XM5 is the flagship T3 and t2ONLINE compare against, with a larger step up in sound, design and build according to T3. We have not verified its specifications for this article.
Nothing Ear (2) is the similar budget option T3 mentions, with transparent styling. We have not verified its specs here.
