Is the OPPO K12x 5G worth buying? For buyers who want a tough, long-lasting budget 5G phone and can live with an HD+ screen, the OPPO K12x 5G is a sensible pick: it pairs a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip with a 5,100mAh battery, 45W SUPERVOOC charging (charger included) and a drop-tested body. If a sharp display, strong low-light photos or gaming muscle matter more, look elsewhere.
This article covers the exact listing our Amazon link opens: the OPPO K12x 5G in Breeze Blue with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, sold with the 45W SUPERVOOC charger in the box. OPPO also sells an 8GB/256GB model and a Midnight Violet colour, but those are separate listings.
Please note: this is not a hands-on review. It is based on OPPO India’s official specification page (checked on 17 October 2026) and on published reviews and launch reports, which are credited by name wherever we use their findings.

Design and durability: the main reason to consider it
The headline feature of the OPPO K12x 5G is toughness. OPPO markets it as having a “360-degree damage-proof armour body” and says the phone survived a 1.4-metre drop onto marble on all six sides and four corners in its own lab tests. OPPO itself adds a footnote that lab results do not guarantee the phone will survive every everyday drop, which is a fair reminder that a case is still a good idea.
Launch coverage from GSMArena and FoneArena reports an IP54 rating and MIL-STD-810H shock certification. IP54 means protection against dust and splashes such as rain, not submersion, and OPPO warns against immersion. A related feature, Splash Touch, is designed to keep the touchscreen usable with wet fingers, useful outdoors during the monsoon.
OPPO lists it at about 7.68mm thick and 186g. FoneArena notes the frame is plastic but says the phone “feels solid in hand.” A protective case is included in the box, according to OPPO’s in-box list.
Display: smooth but not sharp
The 6.67-inch LCD runs at up to 120Hz, so scrolling through social feeds and menus should look smoother than on a basic 60Hz phone.
The trade-off is resolution. At 1604 x 720 pixels (HD+), text and video are noticeably less crisp than on a Full HD+ panel, especially at this screen size. FoneArena lists the HD+ screen as one of the phone’s main drawbacks and also notes there is no HDR playback support. On the plus side, OPPO quotes 1000 nits in high-brightness mode for outdoor use, and FoneArena describes the screen as bright.
Why this matters: if you mostly call, message, use UPI apps and browse, HD+ is acceptable. If you stream long movies or read a lot on your phone, the lower pixel density is the compromise you will notice most.
Performance and software
The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 is an entry-level 5G chip. According to FoneArena, it has two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores, paired with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. That is enough for everyday apps, video calls and light multitasking.
For gaming, FoneArena reports that casual titles and BGMI at low graphics settings run fine, but that the phone “can’t handle high-end games like Genshin Impact.” It also recorded a 97.6% stability score in the 3DMark Wild Life stress test, which points to steady performance in longer sessions.
The 6GB variant uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. FoneArena found about 105GB of the 128GB free out of the box and reports that virtual RAM expansion can add up to 6GB on its unit.
The phone launched with ColorOS 14 based on Android 14. FoneArena reports a promise of two Android updates and three years of security updates. It also lists preinstalled apps such as Netflix, Facebook, Amazon, Snapchat, Spotify, LinkedIn and Myntra, most of which can be uninstalled. OPPO extras include AI Eraser and AI LinkBoost for steadier network connections.
Battery and charging
Battery life is the K12x 5G’s strongest point. The 5,100mAh battery (typical capacity) is paired with a lower-resolution HD+ screen, which generally helps efficiency.
According to FoneArena’s review, the phone “can easily last for a day with heavy use and for 2 days with typical use.” FoneArena measured about 50% charge in roughly 30 minutes and a full charge in close to one and a half hours with the bundled 45W charger. OPPO’s own figure is 50% in 30 minutes in lab conditions.
OPPO also says the battery should keep over 80% of its capacity for more than four years at one charge per day. That is a lab estimate, not a warranty. FoneArena notes a smart charging option that can stop at 80% to reduce battery wear.
Cameras: fine in daylight, average at night
The rear setup is a 32MP main camera with autofocus and a 2MP portrait sensor. There is no ultra-wide or macro camera. Selfies are handled by an 8MP front camera.
FoneArena says daylight shots “came out well” with good dynamic range thanks to auto HDR, and that 2x zoom is usable while higher zoom levels lose detail. It rates low-light results as “just average” and the selfie camera as “decent at the best.” Video recording goes up to 1080p at 60fps on the rear camera.
Audio, calls and connectivity
FoneArena reports a single (mono) speaker that it calls “decent,” along with OPPO’s Ultra Volume Mode, which OPPO says can raise call volume up to 300% in noisy places. Call quality was rated good in FoneArena’s review. A 3.5mm headphone jack is still present, and Bluetooth 5.3 supports codecs including AAC, aptX HD and LDAC according to OPPO’s spec sheet.
The phone takes two nano-SIMs, and OPPO’s spec page lists nine 5G bands, including n78 and n28, which are widely used in India. There is no NFC, according to FoneArena.
Who should buy the OPPO K12x 5G

- Students and older family members who need simple, long battery life and fast charging
- Anyone who still uses wired earphones and wants a 3.5mm jack
Who should skip it
- Heavy video watchers who want a Full HD+ or AMOLED display

Alternatives worth comparing
OPPO K13x 5G: The successor, announced in India on 23 June 2025, keeps the Dimensity 6300 chip and a 6.67-inch 120Hz HD+ LCD but moves to a larger 6,000mAh battery, a 50MP main camera and an IP65 rating, according to OPPO’s press release. It launched with ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. If you can find it, it is the natural upgrade over the K12x.
Moto G45 5G: Motorola’s rival uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chip, a 6.5-inch 120Hz HD+ display, a 50MP main camera and a 5,000mAh battery, according to FoneArena’s launch report. It offers stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, which the K12x lacks, but has only an IP52 rating and slower 18W charging. Read our Moto G45 5G review for more detail.
What to check before you order

- Variant: our link opens the 6GB RAM + 128GB, Breeze Blue listing. Confirm the RAM, storage and colour on the Amazon page before paying, as Amazon sometimes shows a different default option.
- Availability: the listing showed low stock when we checked on 17 October 2026, so availability may vary and the listing may go out of stock.
- Box contents: the listing title mentions the 45W SUPERVOOC charger in the box. OPPO’s in-box list also includes a USB cable and a protective case.
- Seller and warranty: check who the seller is, confirm the warranty terms on the listing, and keep the invoice for warranty claims at an OPPO service centre.
- Storage needs: 128GB fills up quickly with photos and WhatsApp media. A memory card helps, but on a hybrid slot it uses the second SIM position.

The OPPO K12x 5G is a practical, durability-focused budget 5G phone. Its battery life, included 45W charger, IP54 protection and drop-tested build are real advantages for everyday buyers in India.
