The Epson EcoTank L130 is a print-only colour ink tank printer for homes and small offices that print a steady volume of documents and want refillable ink bottles instead of cartridges. In short, it is a sensible pick if you only need to print over a USB cable, but it cannot scan or copy, and it has no Wi-Fi, so it suits a desk-bound PC setup rather than a phone-first household.

Epson lists ISO print speeds of about 7.0 images per minute (ipm) in black and 3.5 ipm in colour, a maximum resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi, a 50-sheet paper tray and a USB 2.0 connection. The current Epson India product page also promotes speeds of up to 8.5 ipm (black) and 4.5 ipm (colour), along with a one-year or 15,000-print warranty.

This article is based on Epson’s official India product page, Epson’s L130 brochure, and Epson India’s support and ink pages, checked on 17 October 2026. We have not tested the printer ourselves, so there are no hands-on claims here.

What kind of printer the L130 really is

Instead of replaceable cartridges, the Epson EcoTank L130 has built-in ink tanks that you refill from bottles. Epson’s India page describes this as its “proven original ink tank system” and markets the L130 mainly as a document printer that is compact and economical to run.

The important point is what is missing. The L130 is a single-function printer. There is no flatbed scanner on top, so you cannot photocopy an Aadhaar card, scan a signed form or digitise a school worksheet with it. If those tasks come up even occasionally in your house or office, an all-in-one ink tank model will save you a trip to the local photocopy shop.

Epson quotes two kinds of speed figures for the L130, and it helps to know the difference. The ISO 24734 figures (about 7.0 ipm black and 3.5 ipm colour in the brochure) come from a standard test that includes realistic document pages, so they are the better guide to everyday speed. The draft figures (about 27 ppm black and 15 ppm colour) are measured in the fastest, lowest-quality mode and are not what you will see when printing a normal assignment or invoice.

The current Epson India page highlights “up to 8.5 ipm” for black and 4.5 ipm for colour. That is higher than the brochure’s ISO figures, and Epson does not explain the test basis on that page. The safe reading is that the L130 is a slow-to-moderate printer.

On quality, Epson lists a 5760 x 1440 dpi maximum resolution and a 3 pl minimum droplet size, the same headline resolution it quotes for the newer EcoTank L3250. Epson rates a default-mode 4×6 inch photo at roughly 69 seconds, so it can handle the occasional family photo or school project picture, but it is not a dedicated photo printer.

Ink, yields and running cost

The main reason people buy any EcoTank is the ink. The L130 uses Epson’s T664 ink bottles in black, cyan, magenta and yellow. Epson India’s ink finder lists the black bottle as C13T664100 and the colour bottles as C13T664200, C13T664300 and C13T664400.

Epson’s L130 brochure rates a black bottle at 4,500 pages and the colour set at 7,500 pages (composite), based on Epson’s own method using ISO/IEC 24712 test patterns. Epson clearly notes that these yields are not based on ISO/IEC 24711, so they are not directly comparable to cartridge yields from other brands. Pages full of photos or coloured backgrounds use far more ink than plain text.

There is also a box-contents detail to watch. The older brochure says four 70 ml bottles come in the box, while the current Epson India product page says each purchase includes a set of 40 ml CMYK bottles, with 70 ml bottles sold separately. If the starter bottles are 40 ml, the first fill will not last as long as the brochure yield figures suggest. Epson does not publish a page yield for the 40 ml starter set, so we have not guessed one.

Epson India advertises a low cost per print for the L130 and links to its calculation method at epson.co.in/parameters. Because ink bottle prices change, check the current bottle price before working out your own cost per page.

Connectivity and setup

The L130 connects to a computer through USB 2.0 only. There is no Wi-Fi, no Wi-Fi Direct and no Ethernet port. So you cannot print directly from an Android phone or iPhone. And only the computer it is plugged into can use it, unless you set up printer sharing. For a single-PC desk that is simple and reliable.

Driver support is worth checking before you order. The brochure lists Windows XP to Windows 8.1 and older macOS versions. Epson India’s current support page offers drivers selectable for Windows 10, macOS up to 14 Sonoma and Linux, but Windows 11 does not appear in the operating system list as of 17 October 2026. We could not confirm official Windows 11 support, so check Epson’s support page for your system first.

Paper handling, size and power use

The single friction-feed tray holds up to 50 sheets of 75 g/m2 A4 plain paper or 10 sheets of premium glossy photo paper. The output tray takes 30 sheets. Supported sizes include A4, A5, A6, B5, Letter, Legal, 4×6, 5×7 and 8×10 inch photo sizes, and #10, DL and C6 envelopes. The maximum length listed is 44 inches at 8.5 inches width, which allows long-format printing on A4-width paper.

Double-sided printing is manual, meaning you have to flip the pages yourself. That is manageable for short documents but tedious for long reports.

Power draw is low at about 9 W while printing and 2.2 W in standby, which helps if the printer runs off an inverter or UPS.

Who should buy it and who should skip it

Who should buy the Epson EcoTank L130
Who the Epson EcoTank L130 suits, summarised from this review.

Buy the Epson EcoTank L130 if you print mainly text documents from one Windows or Mac computer, you do not need scanning or copying, and you want refillable bottles that are cheaper to top up than cartridges. Students, tuition centres and small shops printing bills fit this profile.

Skip it if you need to photocopy ID documents, scan forms, print from a phone without a computer, or print long colour documents quickly. In those cases, an all-in-one Wi-Fi ink tank model is a better long-term buy even though it is larger.

Alternatives worth comparing

Epson EcoTank L3250: Epson’s all-in-one ink tank model adds a flatbed scanner and copying, plus Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct for up to eight devices without a router. Epson India lists ISO speeds of up to 15.0 ipm black and 8.0 ipm colour, uses 003 ink bottles rated at 4,500 pages black and 7,500 pages colour, and carries a warranty of up to 1 year or 30,000 prints. Read our Epson EcoTank L3250 review if you want the all-in-one alternative.

Canon PIXMA G1010: Canon’s refillable ink tank printer is also print-focused. Canon India lists ISO speeds of 8.8 ipm black and 5.0 ipm colour, a 4800 x 1200 dpi maximum resolution and GI-790 bottles rated at 6,000 pages for pigment black and 7,000 pages for each colour. Like the L130, it is a print-focused option for buyers who do not need scanning.

What to check before you order

Epson EcoTank L130 buying checklist
What to check before you buy the Epson EcoTank L130.
  • Confirm the model: the listing should say Epson EcoTank L130 Single Function InkTank Printer. Epson India shows model code C11CE58501 on the product page, while the support page also references C11CD81501, so match the code on the box with Epson’s support page for drivers and warranty registration.
  • Check box contents: check whether the listing shows 40 ml or 70 ml starter bottles, and whether a USB cable is included.
  • Warranty and service: Epson India states 1 year or 15,000 prints, whichever comes first. Register the printer on Epson’s India website and keep the invoice. Epson’s service line on its support page is 1800 425 0011.
  • Computer compatibility: confirm a driver is available for your Windows or macOS version before buying, especially on Windows 11.
  • Use genuine T664 ink: Epson’s yield figures and warranty terms are based on its own ink, so read the warranty terms before using third-party ink.

When you are ready, see the Epson EcoTank L130 Single Function InkTank Printer on Amazon.in and confirm the seller, box contents and warranty details on the listing.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Epson L130 have Wi-Fi or mobile printing?

No. It connects through USB 2.0 only. You can print from a phone only indirectly, for example by sending files to the connected computer first.

Which ink does the Epson L130 use?

It uses Epson T664 ink bottles in black (C13T664100), cyan (C13T664200), magenta (C13T664300) and yellow (C13T664400), according to Epson India’s ink finder.

Epson’s brochure rates the black bottle at 4,500 pages and the colour set at 7,500 pages composite, using Epson’s own ISO/IEC 24712-based method. Actual yield depends on what you print, and the starter bottles in the box may be smaller.

What is the warranty on the Epson L130 in India?

Epson India lists a warranty of one year or 15,000 prints, whichever comes first.

Final thoughts

The Epson EcoTank L130 does one job: refillable, low-power colour printing over USB. If that is all you need, it is a compact and straightforward choice backed by Epson’s ink tank system. If scanning, copying or wireless printing matter to you, spend on an all-in-one model instead. Check the current price of the Epson EcoTank L130 on Amazon.in before deciding.
