The Digitek DWM-010 is a single-channel 2.4GHz wireless lavalier microphone for phones with a USB Type-C port: one clip-on transmitter talks to one small Type-C receiver that plugs into your phone. Digitek rates it for up to 40 metres in clear line of sight, under 20ms delay and about 7 hours per charge, which makes it a sensible budget pick for solo vloggers, reels creators, teachers and anyone recording talking-head videos. It is not meant for two-person interviews, Lightning-port iPhones or cameras that need a 3.5mm input.

This article is based on Digitek’s official product page, the Amazon.in listing data captured on 17 October 2026 and official pages of comparable products, not on hands-on testing. There are no listening impressions or battery measurements here, only what the published specifications say and what they mean when you record.

The Amazon link in this article is for the black, single-transmitter DWM-010 (one mic plus one Type-C receiver). Digitek’s dual-channel version is a different item.

Quick verdict

  • Best for: solo creators recording on an Android phone or USB-C iPhone who want a clip-on mic with no app or pairing
  • Skip if: you interview a second person, use a Lightning iPhone, or want to plug into a DSLR or mirrorless camera
  • Key strengths: very light (8g mic, 5g receiver), automatic pairing, rated under 20ms delay, 24-bit capture, about 7 hours claimed battery, 1-year Digitek warranty
  • Key limitations: one transmitter only, no charging case listed, the 40m range applies only in clear line of sight (Digitek states 20m around corners), and we found no independent tests confirming real-world sound

How the DWM-010 works: plug in, clip on, record

The DWM-010 is a two-piece system. The transmitter is the small mic you clip to your collar, and the receiver is a tiny dongle that goes into your phone’s USB Type-C port. According to the Amazon.in listing, the two pair automatically when switched on, a steady LED confirms the connection, and there is no app, Bluetooth pairing or driver to install. You plug in the receiver, switch on the mic and open your camera app, and the phone should treat the receiver as an external microphone.

This is different from a Bluetooth earphone mic, which phones usually record through a low-quality call profile. The DWM-010 sends audio to its own receiver instead, which is why it can claim 24-bit capture and low delay. Some lines in the Amazon.in listing describe it as a “Bluetooth mic”, but Digitek’s official specifications describe a 2.4GHz link to its own receiver, not Bluetooth pairing with your phone.

Sound quality: what the numbers tell you

Digitek quotes a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response, 24-bit depth, -35dB sensitivity and a 65dB signal-to-noise ratio. In plain terms, the frequency range comfortably covers the human voice, and 24-bit capture leaves more room to raise or lower levels in editing than older 16-bit systems.

The 65dB SNR is the modest number on the sheet. A higher SNR means less hiss from the mic itself. 65dB is fine for speech in vlogs, reels and classes, but it is not a studio-grade figure, so heavily boosting a very soft voice later may bring up some hiss. Digitek’s page prints the value as “-65dB”, which looks like a formatting slip because SNR is normally written as a positive number; the Amazon.in listing gives it as 65dB.

The capsule is omnidirectional, so it picks up sound equally from every side. That is normal for lavalier mics and forgiving when the clip shifts, but a ceiling fan, cooler or traffic will be captured along with your voice. The built-in noise reduction, which the listing says switches on automatically at power-on, is meant to lower that background noise. Digitek does not publish how much reduction it applies, and we could not find independent tests of this model, so treat it as a help rather than a cure.

Audio modes and the multifunction button

According to the Amazon.in listing, one multifunction button switches between three modes: Original Sound, Reverb and Mute. Original Sound is the mode to use for vlogs, interviews, classes and anything you plan to edit. Reverb adds an echo effect that some people like for singing or casual reels, but the effect is recorded into the audio and cannot be removed later, so leave it off for serious work. Mute is handy during live streams. Digitek’s official page does not describe the modes, so check the manual.

Range and delay in real use

Digitek’s headline figure is 40 metres, but its own specification table is more precise: 40 metres with a clear line of sight and 20 metres when turning corners. Walls, people and even your own body weaken a 2.4GHz signal, and busy Wi-Fi areas can add interference. Since the phone is usually a few metres away, this rarely matters, but do a test recording if you plan to walk away from a fixed phone.

The under-20ms delay figure matters more day to day, because lagging sound makes lip movements look out of sync. A rated delay below 20ms is low for a wireless mic of this kind, and if you ever spot a small offset, any editing app lets you nudge the audio track by a frame to fix it.

Battery and charging

The transmitter has a 3.7V, 80mAh battery that Digitek rates at about 7 hours of continuous use. Charging is over USB Type-C, and the listing includes a Type-C charging cable in the box and mentions LED battery alerts that warn you before the mic runs flat. Digitek does not publish a charging time, and no charging case is listed for this model, so you will need to top up the mic from a phone charger or laptop port between long sessions.

Design, weight and comfort

At 8 grams for the transmitter and 5 grams for the receiver, the DWM-010 is light enough that a thin shirt collar will not sag, and the receiver adds next to nothing to the phone. The mic body is plastic and measures about 44.4 x 16 x 17.5mm according to Digitek. The listing mentions a clip for attaching it to clothing. No wind cover is listed in the box, which matters for outdoor shoots on windy days, so plan for that if you record outside often.

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Who should buy the Digitek DWM-010
Who the Digitek DWM-010 suits, summarised from this review.

Buy it if you are a solo YouTuber, an Instagram reels creator, a teacher recording lessons, or someone who presents and records on a USB-C phone or tablet, and you want clearer voice audio than the built-in mic without any setup. If you are building a complete phone video setup, our YouTube starter kit guide for India covers lights, stands and other parts of the kit.

Skip it if you regularly record two people at once, because one transmitter cannot cover two speakers well. Also skip it if you use an iPhone with a Lightning port, want to plug the mic into a camera’s 3.5mm input, or need a charging case for long shoot days.

Alternatives worth comparing

Digitek DWM-010 dual channel: Digitek’s own DWM-010 page lists a dual-channel style alongside the single-channel one. It is not the item behind our link.

Digitek DWM-116: According to Digitek’s official page, this kit has two transmitters and one receiver, comes with a charging case, and includes a Type-C to Lightning connector. Digitek rates it at about 6 hours of continuous use, or 24 hours with the case, with 40m barrier-free and 20m obstacle range. It is the better fit for interviews and for older iPhones.

pTron KWM-1: pTron’s official page describes a 2.4GHz Type-C wireless mic with DSP noise reduction, up to 25m range, about 5 hours of battery life, and wind muffs and foam filters.

pTron KWM-2: pTron lists this as a Type-C kit with dual charging microphones and a charging case, rated for up to 48 hours of recording time with the case and a 20m to 25m range. And if you would rather avoid batteries altogether, a wired clip-on mic is another route; see our BOYA BY-M1 review.

What to check before you order

Digitek DWM-010 buying checklist
What to check before you buy the Digitek DWM-010.
  • Confirm the variant: the listing should read DWM-010 with box contents of 1 receiver and 1 transmitter, so do not expect the dual-channel set
  • Check your phone’s port: the receiver needs USB Type-C. The listing names iPhone 15 and later and USB Type-C Android phones and tablets. iPhones with a Lightning port cannot take the receiver directly
  • Check case clearance: a thick or rugged phone case can stop a small dongle from seating fully in the port, so test with your case on
  • Test your recording app: some third-party apps keep using the built-in mic, so record a 10-second test and listen back before an important shoot
  • Keep your invoice: Digitek’s warranty is 12 months for manufacturing defects only. It excludes physical damage, liquid damage and unauthorised repairs, and a valid invoice is needed for claims
  • Know the support contacts: the listing names IMS Mercantiles Limited, Delhi, as manufacturer, with toll-free number 1800-123-544-444 and email support@digitek.net.in

Frequently asked questions

Does the Digitek DWM-010 work with iPhone?

It works with iPhones that have a USB Type-C port; the Amazon.in listing names iPhone 15 and later. iPhones with a Lightning port cannot take the Type-C receiver directly, and Digitek does not list a Lightning connector for this model.

Is the Digitek DWM-010 a Bluetooth microphone?

No. Despite some wording in the listing, it uses its own 2.4GHz wireless link between the mic and the Type-C receiver. You do not pair it in your phone’s Bluetooth settings.

How long does the DWM-010 battery last?

Digitek rates the mic’s 80mAh battery at about 7 hours of continuous use. A charging time is not published.

Can I use the DWM-010 with a DSLR or laptop?

Digitek lists only a Type-C receiver for this model, with no 3.5mm output, so it is not designed for camera mic inputs. The listing names only smartphones and tablets as compatible devices.

Does the DWM-010 come with two microphones?

Not this listing. The item behind our link is the single-channel kit with one transmitter. Digitek sells a dual-channel version separately.

Final word

The Digitek DWM-010 is a simple upgrade over a phone’s built-in mic for one person speaking to camera, with sensible published specs: under 20ms delay, 24-bit capture, about 7 hours of claimed battery and an 8g transmitter. The trade-offs are one mic only, no charging case, a modest 65dB SNR and range that drops to 20m around corners. Check the current price of the Digitek DWM-010 on Amazon.in and confirm the single-channel variant before ordering.
