The Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh 33W (model PB2030IN) is a good fit if you want one large-capacity power bank that can fast-charge a modern phone over USB-C and still keep earbuds or a smartwatch topped up. Its strengths are the 33W USB-C output with USB Power Delivery, three output ports and a published 12-layer protection list. Its main trade-offs are a 440 g weight, a slow refill unless you use a fast charger of your own, and a big drop in speed when you charge more than one device at once.

This article covers the Blue listing on Amazon.in (ASIN B0DCNZGW36). Xiaomi India sells the same model in Nitro Green, Turbo Blue and Jet Black, and the other colours are separate Amazon listings, not this link. Everything below is based on Xiaomi India’s official product and specification pages, the Amazon.in listing and retailer listings, all checked on 17 October 2026. We have not tested this power bank ourselves, so treat the speeds and times quoted as the maker’s or seller’s claims.

Short verdict: a sensible everyday and travel bank for fast-charging one phone at a time, but not for laptops, pockets or fast-charging several devices together.

Quick verdict

  • Best for: people who want several phone top-ups from one bank, plus the option to top up earbuds, a watch or a tablet
  • Skip if: you want a light, pocketable bank, need 45W or more for a laptop, or want a built-in cable you can rely on
  • Key strengths: 33W maximum output over USB-C, USB PD and Quick Charge 3.0 listed by Xiaomi, one USB-C plus two USB-A ports, low-power mode for wearables, 1-year warranty
  • Key limitations: 440 g, no charger in the box, about 6.9 hours to refill with an 18W (9V/2A) charger by Xiaomi’s figure, output falls to 5V 3A when more than one port is in use

What 20,000mAh really means for your phone

Xiaomi lists two 10,000mAh cells at 3.7V, which works out to 74Wh of stored energy. The 20,000mAh headline is measured at the cell’s own voltage, though, and no power bank hands all of that to your phone. Energy is lost when the bank steps the 3.7V cell voltage up to 5V, 9V or higher for USB charging, and some more is lost as heat inside the phone. Think of it as “several phone charges”, fewer for phones with very large batteries.

The Amazon.in listing also claims the battery “retains 80% capacity after 300 cycles”. That figure does not appear on Xiaomi’s specification page, so treat it as the listing’s claim. All lithium-ion batteries lose some capacity as they age, and how you store and use the bank affects how quickly that happens.

The 33W output, explained port by port

The most useful number in the spec sheet is the USB-C output table. It goes up to 20V 1.5A and includes 9V 3A (27W) and 11V 3A (33W) steps, which is where the 33W headline comes from. A phone that negotiates one of these higher steps over USB Power Delivery can charge noticeably faster than it would on a basic 5V supply.

Xiaomi’s product page backs this up with three of its own example claims: a Redmi Note 13 Pro+ to 50% in 27 minutes, a Xiaomi 14 Ultra to 50% in 30 minutes and an iPhone 15 Pro Max to 50% in 29 minutes. These are the maker’s figures, not independent tests, and Xiaomi adds a footnote that you need a compatible cable rated for 33W or above to get the best results. The Amazon.in listing repeats the “50% in 27 minutes” figure.

The two USB-A ports top out at 12V 1.67A (about 20W), which suits older phones, Quick Charge 3.0 devices and USB-A to Lightning or micro-USB cables.

One important limitation: Xiaomi lists the output with two or more ports in use as 5V 3A, which is 15W shared between devices. So you can charge three devices at once, but nothing will fast-charge while you do. If speed matters, charge your phone alone first, then the accessories.

Low-power mode for earbuds and watches

Earbuds, bands and smartwatches draw so little current that some power banks switch off, thinking nothing is connected. Xiaomi’s product page says a double-tap of the power button enters a low-power mode meant for these devices, including neckbands.

Recharging the power bank

The single USB-C port is also the input, and Xiaomi lists input at up to 30W (12V 2.5A). The official refill times are given only for slower chargers: about 6.9 hours with a 9V/2A (18W) charger and about 10.5 hours with a 5V/2A (10W) charger, using the included cable. Xiaomi notes that a charger is not included.

The Amazon.in listing gives a different figure, a “Battery Charge Time” of 4.8 hours, without saying which charger that assumes. Xiaomi does not publish a refill time for a 30W charger, so we cannot confirm that claim. Plan for an overnight refill to be safe.

Safety: the 12-layer protection list

Xiaomi’s product page lists the protections behind its “12-layer” claim. They include overheat protection, short-circuit protection, input overvoltage and overcurrent protection, output overvoltage and overcurrent protection, overcharge and over-discharge protection, metal foreign object detection, electrostatic protection, chip thermal shutdown and a reset protection. The page also says the product is “tested for Indian standards”.

Protections are not a reason to skip basic care. Xiaomi gives an operating temperature of 5 to 35 degrees C, so avoid charging it on a hot car dashboard or under a pillow.

Design, size and what is in the box

At 15.06 x 7.22 x 2.63 cm and 440 g, this is a bag item, not a pocket item. The shell is PC+ABS according to Xiaomi. Note that the Amazon.in feature bullets describe a “matte black finish” even on this Blue listing, so rely on the colour named in the listing title and the photos, not that bullet.

Xiaomi’s product page text also mentions a “built-in Type-C cable”, but its specification sheet lists only one USB-C port and two USB-A ports, so we could not confirm a built-in cable. The spec sheet refers to an “included USB cable”, and Croma’s listing for the Jet Black version lists the power bank, a USB cable, a user manual and a warranty card. Check the box contents on the Amazon.in listing, and expect to use your own USB-C to USB-C cable for 33W charging.

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Who should buy the Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh
Who the Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh suits, summarised from this review.
  • Buy it if you are a student, commuter or traveller who wants plenty of phone backup plus top-ups for earbuds, a watch or a tablet
  • Buy it if your phone supports USB Power Delivery and you want faster top-ups than a basic 10W bank gives
  • Skip it if you want a pocketable bank, since 440 g is heavy
  • Skip it if you need 45W or 65W for a laptop, or regularly fast-charge two phones at once

Alternatives worth comparing

Xiaomi Magnetic Power Bank 10000 45W (WPB1025): Xiaomi India lists it at 37Wh with two 5,000mAh cells, up to 45W from its USB-C outputs, a built-in USB-C cable, magnetic wireless charging and a weight of 238 g. It holds roughly half the energy of the 4i 20000mAh but is far lighter and faster over USB-C, so it suits people who value portability over capacity.

Ambrane Stellar 20K: Ambrane’s product page lists 20,000mAh, up to 22.5W output, Quick Charge 3.0, Power Delivery, VOOC and PPS support, Type-C and USB-A ports and a built-in detachable Type-C to Type-C cable, with a 6-month warranty. It trades peak speed for the convenience of a cable you cannot forget at home.

What to check before you order

Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh buying checklist
What to check before you buy the Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh.
  • Variant: this link is the Blue listing. Green and Black are separate listings, so confirm the colour in the title before you pay
  • Model number: look for PB2030IN in the listing’s technical details, which matches Xiaomi India’s spec sheet
  • Ignore odd table values: the listing’s technical details show “33 Volts” and “33 Amps”, which look like data-entry mix-ups with the 33W rating. Xiaomi’s spec sheet is the reliable source
  • Cable: for 33W, use a USB-C to USB-C cable rated for at least 3A, as Xiaomi recommends a cable rated 33W or above
  • Charger: no wall charger is included, and a USB-C PD charger refills the bank faster than an old 5V adapter
  • Warranty: Xiaomi India states a 1-year warranty for charging-related technical issues, subject to terms, and the listing calls it a limited warranty. Keep your Amazon invoice for any service claim
  • Travel: the bank is rated 74Wh. Airlines set their own power bank rules, so check your airline’s current policy before flying

Frequently asked questions

Can the Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh charge an iPhone fast?

Xiaomi’s product page lists USB Power Delivery and claims an iPhone 15 Pro Max can reach 50% in 29 minutes. That is Xiaomi’s figure, not an independent test. You will need a USB-C to USB-C cable for USB-C iPhones, or a USB-C to Lightning cable for older models.

Can it charge a laptop?

The USB-C port offers up to 20V 1.5A (30W). Some small laptops that charge over USB-C PD may accept this slowly, but laptops that need 45W or more may charge very slowly or not at all. Check your laptop’s USB-C charging requirements first.

How long does it take to recharge?

Xiaomi quotes about 6.9 hours with a 9V/2A charger and about 10.5 hours with a 5V/2A charger. The Amazon.in listing says 4.8 hours but does not state the charger used, and Xiaomi does not publish a figure for its 30W maximum input.

Is the Blue version different from the Black or Green one?

Xiaomi India lists the same PB2030IN specifications for all three colours. Only the colour differs, but each colour is a separate Amazon listing, and this article’s link is for the Blue one.

Final thoughts

The Xiaomi Power Bank 4i 20000mAh 33W makes the most sense as a single-phone fast charger with plenty of reserve for accessories. The USB-C output range, PD and Quick Charge 3.0 support and published protection list are reassuring. Weigh them against the 440 g weight, the slow refill on an ordinary charger and the drop to 5V 3A on multiple ports.
