The Resonate RouterUPS NxT is a compact 12V mini UPS that keeps a Wi-Fi router or modem running during power cuts, with a 7800mAh lithium-ion battery and a claimed backup of up to 6 hours, according to its Amazon.in listing. It supports 12V routers that draw up to 3A, which covers Jio Fiber and Airtel fibre routers on 12V adapters, but the listing says it does not support Jio AirFiber, Airtel AirFiber, BSNL or Kerala Vision connections.
Think of it as the lighter, newer option in Resonate’s router UPS range: smaller battery than the RouterUPS Pro, the same 3A ceiling, and a weight of just 190 g. It suits homes where outages usually last an hour or a few hours rather than most of the day.
Transparency note: we have not tested the RouterUPS NxT. This article is based on the Amazon.in listing details (seller-provided, captured 17 October 2026) because Resonate’s own websites could not be opened for verification that day, and we found no independent published review of this new model.
The short answer
- Good fit for: 12V fibre routers and modems drawing up to 3A, people who work or study from home, and outages of a few hours
- Not for: Jio AirFiber, Airtel AirFiber, BSNL or Kerala Vision users (per the listing), non-12V routers, or areas with very long daily outages
- Strengths: 7800mAh battery, 3A support, light 190 g body, BIS, CE and RoHS certification claimed, protection against overcharging, overheating and short circuits claimed, battery-replacement programme
- Weak points: “up to 6 hours” is a best case, no watt-hour rating is listed, no independent review was available to confirm real-world runtime, and indicator details are not described in the listing

The listing’s technical table also gives the connector as “IEC 320, DC power jack”. An IEC 320 connector would normally mean a mains-style socket, which does not match a device that sits on your router’s 12V line, so treat the DC jack as the relevant part and confirm the connection details with Resonate if in doubt.
How the NxT fits into your setup
A router UPS does not plug into the wall. Your router’s existing 12V adapter plugs into the NxT, and the NxT’s output cable goes to the Resonate RouterUPS NxT. With mains power on, the adapter powers the router through the NxT and charges its battery. When power fails, the battery takes over, and Resonate’s listing promises no internet dropouts, so your Wi-Fi, video calls and downloads should carry on.
Because the Resonate RouterUPS NxT adapter does double duty, its current rating matters. The NxT listing does not repeat the RouterUPS Pro’s explicit “at least 2A” adapter advice, but the same logic applies: an adapter that barely covers the router alone leaves little spare current for charging. If your adapter is rated 0.5A or 1A, ask Resonate’s support whether it is enough before relying on the NxT.
Setting it up, step by step
- Fully charge the NxT once before you depend on it.
- Unplug your router’s 12V adapter from the router.
- Plug that adapter into the NxT’s input.
- Connect the NxT’s output to the router’s power socket and confirm the router boots.
- Switch off the mains at the plug for a minute to check the router stays online on battery, then switch it back on.
Resonate says installation takes about 30 seconds and the unit can be wall-mounted, which is handy where the fibre router is already fixed near the entry point of the Resonate RouterUPS NxT.
Will it really run for 6 hours?
The 6-hour figure is the manufacturer’s best case, and it depends entirely on how much power your router draws. The listing does not give a watt-hour rating. As a rough guide only: if the battery uses typical 3.6V to 3.7V lithium-ion cells, 7800mAh equals about 28 to 29 watt-hours before conversion losses. A router that genuinely draws 6W would then run for roughly four hours, while one drawing 4W could come close to the claimed six. These are calculations, not test results.
Several things push runtime down: a dual-band router with many connected devices, an ONT and router combined in one box, USB storage plugged into the Resonate RouterUPS NxT, or an older battery. Lithium-ion cells also lose capacity over time, so the backup you see in the first month will shrink gradually. The simplest way to learn your real figure is to time the first long outage after installation.
Compatibility checklist

According to the listing, the NxT works with “most 12V routers” drawing up to 3A, and it names NetLink, Syrotech and Alphion units as examples of higher-power models it supports. It also says it can power modems, set-top boxes and other 12V digital devices up to 3A.
- Voltage: your router adapter’s label must read 12V DC output.
- Current: the adapter’s rating must be 3A or less.
- Plug: the router must take a DC barrel plug from its adapter, not USB-C or PoE.
- Connection type: the listing excludes Jio AirFiber, Airtel AirFiber, BSNL and Kerala Vision. If you use any of these, the NxT is not the right product according to Resonate.
- Number of boxes: the listing shows one outlet. If your ONT and Wi-Fi router are separate boxes with separate adapters, one NxT backs up one of them, so plan accordingly.
Not sure what your router needs? The listing invites buyers to check the router’s power label or contact Resonate’s customer care, which is available by phone and WhatsApp according to the listing.
Safety, build and battery replacement
The listing states BIS, CE and RoHS certification and six layers of protection, naming overcharging, overheating and short circuits. It also mentions “intelligent charging” to extend battery life and says the unit is designed for continuous use, which matters because a router UPS stays plugged in all day, every day.
At 190 g and 11 x 6 x 2.6 cm, the NxT is noticeably lighter than the 350 g RouterUPS Pro listed on Amazon.in. Keep it in an open, ventilated spot rather than behind a TV or inside a closed cabinet, away from damp walls and direct sun, and stop using it if the case swells or becomes unusually hot.
When the battery eventually wears out, Resonate’s listing describes a paid battery-replacement programme with 24 to 72 hour service, so you do not need to replace the whole unit. Confirm current charges and process with Resonate.
RouterUPS NxT or RouterUPS Pro?
| Listing detail | RouterUPS NxT | RouterUPS Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 7800mAh | 10400mAh (4 x 2600mAh) |
| Claimed backup | Up to 6 hours | Up to 8 hours |
| Output support | 12V up to 3A | 12V up to 3A |
| Weight | 190 g | 350 g |
| Size | 11 x 6 x 2.6 cm | 11 x 6 x 2.6 cm |
| Exclusions named | Jio AirFiber, Airtel AirFiber, BSNL, Kerala Vision | Jio AirFiber, Airtel AirFiber |
The choice is simple: if your outages often run past a few hours, the Pro’s larger battery gives more margin. If cuts are shorter and you prefer a lighter unit, the NxT is the more sensible pick. Both share the same 3A output ceiling, according to their listings.
Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Buy the NxT if you have a 12V fibre router or modem drawing 3A or less, rely on home internet for office work, online classes, streaming or gaming, and want the router to ride through typical power cuts. For more home-office gear, see our work from home desk setup guide.
Skip it if your connection is one of the excluded types, if your router is not 12V, if you face outages that regularly run most of the day (a larger unit or an inverter suits that better), or if you need firm independent runtime data before buying, because none was available for this model when we checked.
Alternatives to compare
