The realme Buds Air 8 Pro are realme’s Pro-tier Buds Air earbuds, launched in India in May 2026, combining up to 55dB adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC), an 11mm plus 6mm coaxial dual-driver setup, LHDC 5.0 Hi-Res audio, Bluetooth 6.1 and up to 50 hours of total playback. On paper, they suit Android users who want strong ANC, high-bitrate wireless audio and multi-device connection in one pair.

The short verdict: the specification sheet is extensive, with a six-microphone call system with bone-conduction voice pickup, wear detection and IP55 earbuds. The open questions are real-world ANC strength and battery life with ANC switched on, which realme’s launch material did not quantify in the sources we checked.

Please note: this article is based on official launch specifications as reported by FoneArena, the Amazon.in listing, and retailer specification pages, not on hands-on testing by GadgetSoch. We could not open realme’s own product page when we checked on 17 October 2026, and we did not find an independent long-term review to cite, so performance claims are attributed to their source.

Quick verdict

  • Best for: Android users with LHDC-capable phones, daily commuters who want strong ANC, and people who switch between a phone, tablet and laptop
  • Skip if: you use an iPhone and would never benefit from LHDC, you need verified ANC-on battery figures before buying, or you want wireless charging (not listed)
  • Key strengths: up to 55dB adaptive ANC (claimed), coaxial 11mm + 6mm drivers with dual DAC, LHDC 5.0, Bluetooth 6.1, connection to three devices, 45ms game mode, IP55 earbuds, 10-minute quick charge for up to 11 hours
  • Key limitations: ANC-on battery life not stated in the sources we checked, the charging case is not water-resistant, LHDC benefits only compatible Android phones, and conflicting impedance figures across listings

Two figures do not match across sellers: the Amazon.in listing gives impedance as 10 ohms, while Reliance Digital’s product page lists 32 ohms. For wireless earbuds with built-in amplifiers, this should not affect your decision.

Sound: what the coaxial dual-driver design is meant to do

According to FoneArena’s launch report, the Buds Air 8 Pro mount an 11mm dynamic driver and a 6mm micro-planar tweeter on the same axis. The idea is to split the work: the larger dynamic driver handles bass and lower mids, while the small planar tweeter handles treble. Splitting frequencies this way can reduce distortion and give cleaner highs than a single driver asked to do everything.

realme pairs this with dual-DAC processing, which means each driver gets its own digital-to-analogue conversion path. How well this works depends on tuning, which we could not verify from an independent listening test.

LHDC 5.0: who actually benefits

LHDC is a high-bitrate Bluetooth codec. Compared with the standard SBC and AAC codecs, it can carry more audio data, which means less compression and potentially finer detail with well-recorded music. FoneArena lists LHDC 5.0, AAC and SBC for the Buds Air 8 Pro.

There is a catch: your phone must support LHDC. Some Android phones do and many do not, so check your phone’s Bluetooth codec options before counting on it. iPhones use AAC, so iPhone owners get no LHDC benefit. If your phone lacks LHDC, judge these earbuds on ANC, battery, calls and comfort instead. You may also need to switch LHDC on in the realme Link app.

Noise cancellation and calls

realme claims up to 55dB of adaptive ANC that adjusts its strength to the surrounding noise, according to FoneArena. The Amazon.in listing calls it “Ultra-Depth Noise Cancellation” and Reliance Digital describes it as hybrid ANC, which normally means microphones both outside and inside each earbud.

The 55dB figure is a manufacturer claim and is not directly comparable between brands, because each company measures differently. In practice, earbud ANC is most effective against low, steady sounds such as bus engines, metro rumble and air-conditioners, and less effective against voices and sudden sounds like horns. A good ear-tip seal also matters.

For calls, realme lists six microphones, three per earbud, plus a bone-conduction voice pickup unit (VPU). A VPU senses voice vibrations through the jaw, which helps separate your speech from traffic or wind. FoneArena reports a claimed call noise reduction of up to 90dB. We could not find an independent call-quality test to confirm how this performs in a busy Indian street.

Battery life and charging

According to FoneArena, each earbud has a 62mAh battery and the case has 590mAh. realme quotes up to 12 hours from the earbuds in Normal Mode and up to 50 hours in total with the case, with ANC off. A 10-minute charge is claimed to give up to 11 hours of playback, and a full charge takes about 60 minutes for the earbuds in the case and 120 minutes for the earbuds and case together.

The important gap is ANC-on battery life. ANC uses extra power, and most buyers keep it on during commutes. Neither FoneArena nor the Amazon.in listing gives an ANC-on figure, so expect real-world numbers to be lower than 50 hours if you use ANC heavily. Charging is via USB Type-C. Wireless charging is not listed in any source we checked.

Connectivity, gaming and smart features

More useful than the Bluetooth 6.1 label is the claimed ability to connect to three devices at once, according to FoneArena and Smartprix, so you could keep a phone, a tablet and a laptop connected and switch between them without re-pairing. Google Fast Pair simplifies first-time pairing on Android.

The 45ms game mode latency is a realme claim. Lower latency reduces audio delay in fast mobile games. Wear detection pauses playback when you remove an earbud. FoneArena also lists AI simultaneous interpretation and real-time translation for 32 languages, and Smartprix mentions realme’s NEXTAi features, including Ask AI. Check AI feature support for your phone.

Design and durability

FoneArena lists each earbud at 4.8g, which is light enough for long listening sessions for most people. The earbuds are rated IP55 for dust and water resistance, which covers sweat and light rain, but the charging case has no rating.

The Amazon.in link in this article is for the Master Black colour. realme also sells a Master White version, which is a separate listing, so check the colour in the listing title before ordering.
