The boAt Airdopes Prime 512 are budget true wireless earbuds with 13mm drivers, up to 50 hours of total playback, Bluetooth 6.1, multipoint connection, four AI-ENx call microphones and swipe-to-adjust volume, according to boAt’s official product and support pages. They suit students, office workers and commuters who switch between a phone and a laptop and want long battery life with app control. They do not have active noise cancellation, so they are the wrong pick if you want to quieten a noisy bus or metro.

Our short verdict: a feature-rich, no-ANC everyday pair whose strongest points are multipoint, the volume swipe and battery claims. This article covers the Midnight Pebble colour, which is the variant on our Amazon.in link.

A note on method: this guide is based on boAt’s official product page and support documentation, checked on 17 October 2026, plus the Amazon.in listing captured the same day. GadgetSoch has not tested these earbuds hands-on, and we did not find an independent review from a major publication to cite, so performance figures below are boAt’s claims.

Quick verdict

  • Best for: people who move between a phone and a laptop, take lots of calls in moderately quiet places and want long battery life
  • Skip if: you need active noise cancellation, water resistance beyond sweat and splashes, or high-resolution codecs
  • Key strengths: 13mm drivers, up to 50 hours total playback, 10-minute charge for up to 180 minutes, Bluetooth 6.1, multipoint on by default, volume swipe, boAt Hearables app with EQ presets, Google Fast Pair
  • Key limitations: no ANC, IPX4 only, no aptX, voice prompts cannot be switched off, single tap disabled by default, and no independent battery or sound tests yet

Where the listing and boAt’s own pages disagree

  • Noise cancellation: the Amazon.in listing’s technical details tag the product with Active Noise Cancellation, but boAt’s support FAQ answers “No” to ANC, and the product page only describes AI-ENx call noise reduction. Go by boAt: these earbuds do not cancel the noise you hear
  • Swift Pair: the listing promotes Microsoft Swift Pair for quick pairing with Windows PCs. boAt’s own product and support pages mention Google Fast Pair but not Swift Pair, so treat Windows pop-up pairing as a listing claim
  • Volume control: boAt’s support page documents swipe up and swipe down for volume on both earbuds, while one FAQ answer on the same page says there are no physical volume controls. The two fit together if you read “physical” as buttons: volume is changed by touch swipes, not by a button

Sound: 13mm drivers, EQ presets and spatial audio

A 13mm driver is large for an earbud. A bigger diaphragm moves more air, which makes full, punchy bass easier to deliver. Size alone does not guarantee clear mids and treble, and with no independent sound test available, we cannot tell you how balanced the Prime 512 sounds.

What you can do is shape the sound in the boAt Hearables app. boAt’s support page lists seven EQ options: Default, Balanced, Rock, Jazz, Pop, Club and Custom. If the default sounds too bass-heavy for podcasts or vocals, Balanced or a custom curve with a slight treble lift is the place to start. boAt Spatial Audio is also listed, which is a processing effect that widens the stereo image for films and games.

On codecs, boAt confirms aptX is not supported and does not name others. Expect ordinary Bluetooth quality that suits streaming, video and calls rather than high-resolution files.

Controls: the volume swipe explained

The headline convenience feature is volume control by swiping on either earbud. Many budget earbuds make you reach for the phone instead. Here is the default layout from boAt’s support page.

  • Double tap on either earbud: play or pause, and answer a call
  • Triple tap left: previous track, triple tap right: next track
  • Triple tap during a call: end or reject it
  • Long touch left for 2 seconds: voice assistant
  • Long touch right for 2 seconds: switch BEAST Mode on or off
  • Swipe up or down on either earbud: volume up or down

Single tap is disabled by default, which reduces accidental pauses, and taps, long touches and swipes can be remapped in the app. One small annoyance documented by boAt: the voice prompts cannot be turned off or lowered.

Battery life and charging

boAt claims up to 50 hours of total playback with the case, from 35mAh cells in each earbud and a 400mAh case. It does not publish a figure for the earbuds alone or the test settings, so real results will depend on volume, calls and BEAST Mode use.

ASAP Charge is rated at 10 minutes for up to 180 minutes of playback, which is the feature you will notice most on rushed mornings. A full charge takes about 25 minutes for the earbuds and an hour for the case, over USB Type-C. boAt recommends a standard 5V, 2A wall adapter and warns that 9V or 12V chargers can damage the case, so a basic 5V adapter is the safe choice. The case shows its charge on three LEDs.

Calls and connectivity

Each earbud has two microphones, four in total, using boAt’s AI-ENx processing. ENx is environmental noise reduction for your voice on calls: it tries to filter traffic, chatter and wind so the other person hears you more clearly. It does nothing for the noise you hear, and without independent call tests we cannot rate how well it works.

Multipoint is the feature office users will appreciate most. The Prime 512 can stay connected to a phone and a laptop at once, so you can switch between them without re-pairing. boAt says multipoint is on by default and can be switched off in the app’s System tab. Bluetooth 6.1 is a very recent version, and boAt quotes up to 12m of range on the product page, though its troubleshooting advice says to stay within about 10m without obstructions.

For gaming, BEAST Mode brings latency down to a claimed 50ms, toggled by a long touch on the right earbud. boAt itself describes it as suited to entertainment and casual gaming, which is a fair expectation.

Design and water resistance

The listing promotes a pocketable case for flights and commutes. boAt lists the earpieces at 33.3 x 25.4 x 21mm but gives no case size or weights. The box includes two extra ear tips (boAt calls them earmuffs) and a matching silicone cover, according to the product page, which is useful because a good tip seal matters even more on earbuds without ANC.

The IPX4 rating covers sweat and splashes. boAt’s support page advises against submerging the earbuds, swimming or wearing them in the shower.

Buy it if, skip it if

Buy the Airdopes Prime 512 if you want multipoint for a phone and laptop, like controlling volume from the earbuds, value long battery claims and fast top-ups, and are happy to fine-tune sound with an app.

Skip it if you commute in loud traffic or fly often and want ANC, need stronger water resistance for outdoor sport, own an Android phone with LDAC and care about codec quality, or prefer to wait for independent tests.

Alternatives worth comparing

boAt Airdopes 141 Gen 2: a simpler boAt pair with up to 48 hours of total playback, Bluetooth 5.4, four ENx microphones, a 65ms BEAST Mode and IPX4. boAt’s pages do not list multipoint or an app for it, and volume is controlled from the phone. Our boAt Airdopes 141 Gen 2 review has the details.

boAt Airdopes 141 ANC: if you want noise cancellation from boAt, it lists up to 32dB of ANC, up to 42 hours of total playback and a 50ms BEAST Mode, with Bluetooth 5.3 and IPX5 according to FoneArena’s launch report.

realme Buds T310: realme lists up to 46dB hybrid ANC with three levels, 12.4mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.4, IP55, dual-device connection and up to 40 hours of total playback with ANC off.

OnePlus Nord Buds 3: OnePlus lists up to 32dB ANC, a 12.4mm driver, Bluetooth 5.4, IP55 earbuds, dual connection and up to 43 hours of total playback with ANC off.

Before you order

boAt Airdopes Prime 512 buying checklist
What to check before you buy the boAt Airdopes Prime 512.
  • Exact model: make sure the listing says Airdopes Prime 512, not the Airdopes Prime 513 ANC, which is a different product
  • Colour: our link is for Midnight Pebble. boAt also sells Moonstone White and Earth Brown, so check the colour shown before you add it to your cart
  • Box contents: boAt lists the earbuds with case, a USB Type-C cable, a user guide, two extra ear tips and a silicone cover. No wall adapter is listed
  • Warranty: boAt states a 1-year warranty. Its 3-month extension applies only to purchases on boAt’s own website or app with serial-number registration, so do not count on it for an Amazon order, and keep your invoice

  • App: install boAt Hearables on Android or iOS for EQ, control mapping, firmware updates and Smart Diagnostics

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Multipoint lets it stay connected to two devices at once, and boAt says it is on by default, with a toggle in the boAt Hearables app.

How long does the battery last?

boAt claims up to 50 hours of total playback with the case and up to 180 minutes from a 10-minute ASAP Charge. It does not publish a figure for the earbuds alone.

Can I change the volume from the earbuds?

Yes. According to boAt’s support page, swiping up or down on either earbud changes the volume.

Bottom line

The boAt Airdopes Prime 512 bring useful everyday features, led by multipoint, volume swipes, app EQ and a 50-hour battery claim. The catch is that there is no ANC. If that suits how and where you listen, check the current price of the boAt Airdopes Prime 512 on Amazon.in.
