The Portronics Adapto 100 (product code POR 2492) is a 100W GaN wall charger with two USB-C Power Delivery ports and one USB-A port, sold on Amazon.in with a 1-metre USB-C to USB-C cable that the listing rates at 100W. It is aimed at people who want one charger for a USB-C laptop, a phone and a third gadget. The main thing to know is that Portronics publishes only the 100W maximum, not how that power is divided when two or three devices are plugged in.

Verdict in brief: a practical single-charger setup for a laptop that accepts USB-C PD charging plus a phone, especially for travel. It is less convincing if you need a guaranteed 100W for a laptop while other devices charge at the same time, because the per-port split is not documented.

This explainer is based on Portronics’ official product page, the Amazon.in listing and FoneArena’s launch report, all checked on 17 October 2026. We have not tested the charger ourselves, and we did not find an independent measured review, so there are no real-world charging times here.

Portronics Adapto 100 in short

  • Good for: one USB-C laptop plus a phone, or up to three devices from a single socket
  • Not ideal for: anyone who needs a documented per-port wattage, or a laptop that ships with an adapter above 100W
  • Strengths: two USB-C PD ports, GaN design, Power Delivery and Quick Charge support, 100W-rated cable in the box
  • Weak spots: no published power split, 6-month warranty, size and weight figures that look like package dimensions, several obvious errors in the listing’s technical fields

One 100W budget, three ports

The 100W figure is the charger’s total ceiling. It is not 100W per port. Portronics says the Adapto 100 can power three devices at once, and FoneArena’s launch report says it “intelligently allocates power” between them, but neither source gives the numbers.

That gap matters more than it sounds. Multi-port chargers normally give the full rating to a single connected device and then re-divide it when a second or third device joins. With the Adapto 100, you should expect a laptop on one USB-C port to receive less than 100W once a phone or tablet is also connected, but you cannot predict how much less from the official information. If you regularly charge a laptop and a phone together, check the per-port markings printed on the charger body after delivery; most chargers list each port’s output there.

A useful habit with any shared-power charger: plug in the most demanding device, usually the laptop, first and on the port the label marks as highest, then add smaller devices. Many chargers briefly reset their outputs when a new device is connected, which can pause charging for a second or two. That is normal behaviour, not a fault.

Charging a laptop with it

The Adapto 100 is pitched at laptops and MacBooks, and its two USB-C ports support USB Power Delivery, the standard most USB-C laptops use. A 100W PD output covers a wide range of thin-and-light and mainstream laptops that charge over USB-C. Laptops that came with an adapter rated above 100W will usually still charge from a lower-wattage PD charger, but more slowly, and some may not keep up under heavy load.

Before relying on it, check two things on your laptop. First, confirm that its USB-C port supports charging, not just data and display output; some budget laptops use a barrel-pin connector for power. Second, look at the wattage printed on your original adapter. If it is 100W or lower, the Adapto 100 is in the right range when used alone.

The cable matters as much as the charger. Delivering 100W over USB-C needs 20V at 5A, and only cables rated for 5A, which carry a small identifying chip, are allowed to carry that current. Ordinary USB-C cables are often limited to 3A, which caps them at 60W. The Amazon.in listing and FoneArena both say a 1m 100W cable is included, so use that one for your laptop rather than a random spare. Phones, tablets and the USB-A port

For phones and tablets, either USB-C port will handle Power Delivery, which covers iPhones with USB-C, Pixels, many Samsung Galaxy models and iPads, all of which Portronics names in its compatibility claims. Whether Samsung phones get their fastest “Super Fast Charging” mode depends on PPS support, and Portronics does not mention PPS, so Galaxy owners may see standard PD speeds instead.

The USB-A port, which the Amazon.in title calls a “Mach port”, is described by FoneArena as a Quick Charge port. It suits older phones with USB-A cables, earbuds, smartwatches and similar accessories. No wattage is given for it, so treat it as a convenience port rather than the main fast-charging option.

GaN design, and the size question

GaN (gallium nitride) chargers can switch power more efficiently than older silicon designs, which lets manufacturers build higher-wattage chargers that are smaller and run cooler. Portronics leans on this, describing the Adapto 100 as compact, travel-friendly and more energy efficient.

The size figures, however, are confusing. Both the Amazon.in listing and FoneArena give 14.5 x 14.5 x 7.7 cm and 400 g. Portronics’ own page gives no size or weight. Those numbers are large for a wall charger marketed as compact, and they may describe the boxed package with its cable rather than the adapter alone. Neither source clarifies, and neither page states the plug type, so check the listing photos if bag space or socket fit matters to you.

The listing’s technical table also contains clear errors, including “Number of Ports: 1” and “Connector Type: Bluetooth”. The product title, bullets and Portronics’ page all describe three wired ports, so rely on those instead.

Safety, warranty and service

Portronics lists over-current, over-voltage and short-circuit protection, and FoneArena adds protection against overcharging and overheating. These are standard safeguards for a multi-port charger. Neither the official page nor the listing mentions BIS certification in its text, so look for the BIS mark and registration number on the charger or box after delivery.

Portronics’ page states a 6-month warranty. FoneArena’s launch report says purchases from offline stores get a 12-month warranty. An Amazon.in order is an online purchase, so assume 6 months unless the listing’s warranty section says otherwise, and keep the invoice.

Is the Adapto 100 right for you?

It fits well if you carry a USB-C laptop and a phone and want one charger instead of two, or you want a desk charger that can also top up earbuds or a watch. The included 100W cable is a real plus, since buying a proper 5A cable separately adds cost.

Look elsewhere if your laptop needs more than 100W, you want each port’s output documented before buying, or you mainly charge a Samsung phone and want its fastest PPS-based mode. Buyers who value a longer warranty should also note the 6-month term.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Portronics Adapto 100D: a 100W desktop charger with five ports, three USB-C PD and two USB-A, with a power display. FoneArena reports a 12-month warranty. Better for a fixed desk with many gadgets, less suited to travel.
  • UltraProlink Boost 145 (UM1134): a two-port charger with a 45W PD and PPS USB-C port and a 100W-rated USB-A port, which UltraProlink says do not share power. Better for Samsung phones that use PPS, weaker for laptops.
  • UltraProlink Boost 45 MP (UM1342): a 45W GaN charger with two USB-C ports that share power, with PD-PPS and several phone-brand protocols listed. Suited to phones rather than laptops.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Portronics Adapto 100 give 100W to each port?

No. 100W is the total maximum output. Portronics does not publish how it is split when more than one device is connected.

Can it charge a MacBook?

Portronics lists MacBooks as compatible, and its USB-C ports support Power Delivery. A MacBook whose original adapter is 100W or lower should charge normally when it is the only device connected; models with larger adapters will charge more slowly.

Is a cable included?

Yes. The Amazon.in listing and FoneArena both say a 1m USB-C to USB-C cable rated at 100W is included.

Does it support Samsung Super Fast Charging?

Portronics names Power Delivery and Quick Charge, but not PPS, which Samsung’s Super Fast Charging uses. Galaxy phones should still charge over PD, but possibly not at their fastest rate.

What is the warranty?

Portronics states 6 months. FoneArena reports 12 months for offline store purchases only.

Bottom line

The Portronics Adapto 100 makes sense as a single charger for a USB-C laptop and a phone, helped by GaN, two PD ports and a proper 100W cable in the box. Its weak point is transparency: without per-port figures, you are trusting Portronics’ power sharing when several devices are connected.
