Cover graphic: Digitek DWM-008 PRO Review: Two-Mic Type-C Wireless Kit for Android, Explained

The Digitek DWM-008 PRO is a budget two-microphone wireless lavalier kit with a single USB Type-C receiver that plugs straight into an Android phone. Digitek rates it for up to 20 metres of wireless range and up to 4 hours of use per charge, which makes it a reasonable pick for two-person interviews, live streams and online meetings recorded on a Type-C phone, but not for long shoots, cameras or iPhones with a Lightning port.

In short: if you shoot short videos on an Android phone and want two clip-on mics without cables, the DWM-008 PRO covers the basics. If you need noise reduction, longer battery life, a camera output or a published audio spec sheet, look at the alternatives further down.

This article is based on Digitek’s official product page, the Amazon.in listing and the details Digitek publishes about its other models, all checked on 17 October 2026. We have not tested this microphone hands-on, and we could not find an independent lab review of it, so nothing here describes real-world sound quality from our own use.

Quick verdict

  • Best for: Android phone users who record two-person interviews, podcasts, reels or online classes at short distances
  • Skip if: you use an iPhone with a Lightning port, record on a DSLR or mirrorless camera, or need more than about 4 hours per charge
  • Key strengths: two transmitters with one receiver, plug-and-play Type-C connection, 20 m rated range, 12-month brand warranty with an Indian toll-free support line
  • Key limitations: Digitek’s own page does not list noise reduction, sampling rate, latency or charging time, and the seller-provided audio figures on Amazon are incomplete

Digitek’s page and the listing also differ on material (“plastic” versus “polycarbonate”). Neither mismatch changes how you use the kit, but treat seller-entered fields with some caution.

How the two-mic Type-C system works

The DWM-008 PRO follows the familiar “2-in-1” wireless lavalier layout. Each speaker clips a small transmitter to a collar or shirt, and both transmitters send audio over 2.4GHz to one receiver that plugs into the phone’s Type-C port. Digitek calls it plug and play, so there is no Bluetooth pairing or companion app involved: the phone sees the receiver as an external USB microphone.

That matters because Bluetooth audio usually adds delay and compression, and many camera apps will not record from a Bluetooth mic at all. A receiver that appears as a wired USB microphone avoids those issues on phones that support USB audio.

Neither Digitek’s page nor the listing says whether the two microphones are recorded on separate left and right channels or mixed into one. The listing’s “Number of Channels: 2” field hints at two inputs, but it does not confirm a stereo split. If you plan to edit each speaker separately, this is a question to ask the seller before ordering.

Range, battery and what 20 metres really means

Range ratings like Digitek’s 20 m assume a clear line of sight. Walls, bodies and crowded Wi-Fi channels block or share the 2.4GHz band, so expect less indoors. For a sit-down interview or a classroom, 20 m is plenty. For a street vlog where the speaker walks far ahead, it may not be.

Battery life is rated at up to 4 hours of continuous use. That covers most short-form recording, a long webinar or a couple of hours of live streaming, but it is on the lower side for this category. Digitek’s own catalogue lists models such as the DWM-303 at 5 hours and the DWM-010 at 7 hours, and a single wedding, event or full-day shoot will outlast all of them. Digitek does not state the charging time, and it does not say whether the 4-hour figure applies to the transmitters, the receiver or both, so plan for top-ups between sessions.

Sound and pickup: what the specs do and do not tell you

According to the Amazon.in listing, the microphones use a unidirectional pickup pattern. A unidirectional lavalier favours sound from the direction it faces, which, clipped to a collar, is the wearer’s mouth. That generally helps reduce room echo and background chatter compared with an omnidirectional capsule, though it also means the mic should point upward towards the speaker rather than hang sideways.

The listing gives both “audio sensitivity” and “signal-to-noise ratio” as 42 dB and the frequency response simply as “20 KHz”. Those numbers are incomplete. Sensitivity is normally expressed as a negative dBV figure, and a frequency response needs a lower and upper limit, so we would not use these fields to compare the DWM-008 PRO with other mics. Digitek’s own page lists none of these audio specifications, and it does not claim noise cancellation or noise reduction for this model.

The practical takeaway: in a reasonably quiet room, a clip-on mic near the mouth will usually sound clearer than a phone’s built-in mic a metre away. For noisy streets or traffic, a model that advertises noise reduction is the safer bet.

Compatibility: Android, iPhone and cameras

Digitek describes the DWM-008 PRO as made for mobile devices with a Type-C port and titles it “for Android devices”. It does not mention iPhones, laptops or cameras. A few points to check before buying:

  • Android phones: most recent Type-C phones accept USB microphones, but some need OTG switched on in settings, and not every phone supports USB audio input, so check your model first.
  • Camera apps: some stock camera apps ignore external mics. If yours does, a third-party camera app or the recording mode in Instagram or YouTube may pick it up.
  • iPhone 15 and newer (USB-C): Digitek does not list iPhone support for this model. Digitek sells other kits, such as the DWM-011 and DWM-015, that it specifically labels for iPhone 15 series and USB-C Android devices.
  • Older iPhones (Lightning): this kit will not fit. Digitek’s DWM-009 PRO is the Lightning version in the same series.
  • DSLR and mirrorless cameras: there is no 3.5 mm output, so this is not a camera microphone.

Alternatives worth comparing

These alternatives are named with facts taken from the brands’ own pages. Check each one’s current listing for the exact variant before ordering.

  • Digitek DWM-015: a 2-in-1 kit with dual transmitters that Digitek labels for iPhone 15 series and USB-C Android devices, with noise reduction, an echo mode, 20 m range and 4 hours of battery life.
  • Digitek DWM-303: a 2-in-1 USB Type-C kit with dual wireless lavaliers, ENC noise reduction, up to 30 m range and 5 hours of runtime, according to Digitek.
  • Digitek DWM-009 PRO: the Lightning-connector sibling of the DWM-008 PRO for older iPhones.
  • BOYA BY-M1: a wired lavalier mic for phones and cameras. It needs no charging at all, at the cost of a cable. See our BOYA BY-M1 review.

What to check before you order

Digitek DWM-008 PRO buying checklist
What to check before you buy the Digitek DWM-008 PRO.

A few minutes of checking can save a return. The Amazon link on this page goes to one specific listing, ASIN B0D9GWL1B1, which is the black DWM-008 PRO with a Type-C receiver and two microphones. Other Digitek listings look similar but use Lightning connectors or a single transmitter.

  • Confirm the model: the listing title should say DWM-008 PRO, Type-C receiver and 2-mic system.
  • Box contents: per the listing, you should get one Type-C receiver, two microphones, one Type-C cable and a user manual. There is no charging case or windscreen listed, so budget for foam or fur covers if you film outdoors.
  • Warranty: Digitek’s page states a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects only. Physical damage, liquid damage and unauthorised repairs are excluded, and you need a valid invoice to claim, so keep your Amazon invoice.
  • Support: the listing gives Digitek’s toll-free number 1800-123-544-444 and the email support@digitek.net.in, with IMS Mercantiles Limited named as the manufacturer contact.
  • Your phone: check that it supports USB OTG audio, and check whether a thick case blocks the receiver from plugging in fully.

Getting the best results from a budget lavalier kit

Clip each transmitter a hand’s width below the chin with the opening facing up, away from necklaces or scarves that rub. Charge both mics before a session and make a short test recording you check on headphones. If audio drops when a speaker turns away, move the phone closer. Frequently asked questions

Does the Digitek DWM-008 PRO work with iPhone?

Digitek markets it for Android devices with a Type-C port and does not list iPhone compatibility. Lightning iPhones cannot use it at all. For iPhone 15 and later, Digitek sells models it explicitly labels for that range, such as the DWM-011 and DWM-015.

How long does the battery last?

Digitek rates the DWM-008 PRO for up to 4 hours of continuous use on a single charge. It does not publish a charging time.

What is the range of the DWM-008 PRO?

Digitek quotes up to 20 metres. Expect less through walls or in crowded 2.4GHz environments.

Does it have noise cancellation?

Digitek’s official page for this model does not claim noise cancellation or noise reduction. If you record in noisy places, choose a model where the brand advertises ENC or noise reduction.

Can I use it with a DSLR camera?

No. The receiver has only a Type-C plug and no 3.5 mm output, so it is meant for phones.

What warranty does it have in India?

Digitek states a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects, with a valid invoice required. Physical and liquid damage are not covered.

Final word

The Digitek DWM-008 PRO is a straightforward, two-mic Type-C kit for Android phone creators who record short sessions at close range. It keeps things simple with plug-and-play setup, a 20 m rated range and a 12-month brand warranty, but its 4-hour battery, missing noise-reduction claim and thin official audio specs mean it suits beginners and light use better than demanding shoots.
